I honestly can't remember the exact first time I saw minecraft on CZcams. I actually got minecraft before I had heard that much about it because my brother really wanted to get it and my mom agreed to let him get it if I got it first to check it out. So I got it, played it a bit then pretty much forgot about it until I found out it could be modded (cause vanilla didn't have much at that point) and then I started playing a lot of modded and looked up videos specifically to find mods. I know Yogscast was one of the first channels I remember and so was Captain Sparklez. But I also was really bad with names as it was back then so there were probably others I just had trouble remembering the names of that I did watch a lot. I also don't remember *exactly* when I even got minecraft...

Fun fact about me: Pocket Edition was actually where I started playing Minecraft; I didn’t watch any videos. It’s sort of a long story about how I eventually got Minecraft at all, but it involved my cousins and a tremendous uproar from all of us because Pocket Edition was not the app that was SUPPOSED to be downloaded, it was supposed to be a ripoff Minecraft thing, and everyone immediately got jealous

I think weirdly the first Minecraft video I watched was from Joey Graceffa? Back when the walking dead mod was superrrr new. Maybe it was with Shubble?? But I can’t really remember. Then I transitioned to an old SMP HBomb94 was a part of, then chimneyswift and attack of the Bteam with bdubs and then FINALLY hermitcraft in like season 5/6

He would be born late-80s which makes him not even 40

Pocket edition now is just the same as bedrock , ita also much better than the old buggy version........also coincidentally the first minecraft youtuber i watched is joel his video got randomly recommended by youtube so i tried to watch it.

Joel saying his first video was 2007 and then getting called old made me curious, because I graduated in 07 and I remember when youtube got popular in 05/06. My first upload was in 2006, and it was my favorite local band playing a show that I was at the night before my prom lol

Hermitcraft episodes could just be this every single time and I'd be good. Maybe a building timelapse somewhere once and a while but the chatting is what makes it fun for me!

Ive watched Joel since like 2019, and I can say he has always been chaotic (especially in his intros where he constantly killed chickens) and has been getting more and more chaotic - mainly since jeremyism in X-life 😂. I feel like the being mean to his audience joke started in like empires 1/2 tho lol, but I can tell he is always calmer when talking to others and is super nice

As someone who’s watched Joel since 2017, can say he is a really nice laid back person. He just is really chaotic in videos, which I feel makes sense, it’s for entertainment.
