Gutted what a rubbish summer

Good honest advice mate . Ive found a touch of green on my black koi oldest one I have and here's you talking about it. All getting pulled on Saturday because of temperatures. That summer was a shit show with a cherry on top

I’m putting in 5-600g a day ,pond at 22c down to 20.5 c at night not heated fully enclosed, my show aka matsuba put on 5cm in 2weeks and moved up a class at national

Hi Keith , I'm in Stoke, North facing shady garden, my pond temp now down to 12c, my max this year was two days at 18, but still managed some growth and still feeding three times a day even at 12c . It's been a horrible year for unheated pond's here much better for those lucky enough to be in the south.

This coming weekend it's meant to be over 20 degrees so hopefully not quite the end of the summer just yet 😊

Hi Keith, It's still in my pond it's still 24c and I am unheated it's been like that for weeks now mate so it must be warmer it the south east mate. And my fish are feeding like pigs mate. Steve

we may yet get warmer weather in September...koi looking good inside and out.

Bub I bought both of those products and my water is crystal and I fitted one of them easypod mesh filters with the 40 mesh and mate you will be surprised how much it collects

Kenty, have you got your measurements correct? 20cm (8”) in 20 days so your Tancho is now 44cm????, I’m guessing you mean 20mm?

Thanks for testing the 20 mesh out Keith. I will probably add it to the line up as it looks like it's still collecting muck even at that size aperture. I've successfully tested the overflow on mine when fully blocked, but it's pump fed. I don't think that it will work on Gravity, as the water level won't go higher than the level of the pond, but let me know if you do see different. Thanks again, Ian

i'm really impressed with mine. i clean it 3 times a day and only find it rises over the top if i leave it in over night. i thought my water was clear before with my sieve filter taking most fines out but these filters make the clarity look like its been treated with clay in my opinion. really impressed with them

I believe people having problems with nitrite and stuff have probably used parasite treatments that knocks you beneficial bacteria for six. Also the changes in temperature we've been having might affect people with bakki showers whereas a K1 moving bed will keep a more constant temperature and not fluctuate which is better for the growth of beneficial bacteria 👍👍

Yeah keep us updated. I'm near sunny morecambe n have even lower kh. 1/4 of a cup of bicarb on filter cleaning day keeps me around 2 to 3kh.
