My guess is that you won't be able to use it with spin bait from the way I've seen it demonstrated because you won't be able to follow the line directly to the hook as before.

from what i see only works on single straight hooks wont work on trebles or gut hooked fish only times your hand isnt the best hook remover

You don’t know jack about releasing a fish and if u are cutting the line and u have no choice u don’t bight the line off u snip it as close to the hook as u can
