In todays video we are taking a journey from Prague to the enchanting historical sites of Lednice Castle, Breclava, and Vednice in the Czech Republic. Our journey starts at Prague Main Railway Station, called Praha hlavní nádraži which is the most important train station for long-distance travel in Prague. It's also the biggest passenger train station in the Czech Republic.
From Prague Central Train Station, you can catch trains to lots of different places. These include Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, and Austria, among others.
Every day, around 600 trains come and go from Prague's train station. And they take care of about 70,000 passengers, on average.
Our first stop is the charming town of Breclava, known for its picturesque landscapes and rich history. In 1872, Břeclav was promoted to a town. Břeclav's town square is a charming mix of historic and modern architecture, featuring colorful facades, outdoor cafes, and a lively market, where locals gather to socialize and shop. Břeclav is a major transportation hub in the South Moravian region, serving as a railway junction connecting Prague, Brno, Vienna, and other European cities. It has about 25,000 inhabitants.
Next, we venture to Valtice, a town famous for its stunning Baroque architecture and lush vineyards. Valtice is at the heart of the South Moravian wine region, known for its vineyards and wine production. The town hosts wine festivals, tastings.
Valtice is part of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its harmonious blend of architecture and nature, including picturesque gardens, lakes, and monuments.
It boasts an intricate network of wine cellars and underground passages, some dating back to the 13th century, providing a cool and atmospheric setting for wine storage and exploration.
Lednice Castle site will leave you in awe. Explore the beautifully landscaped gardens, intricate architecture, and opulent interiors of this fairy-tale castle. As you wander through these beautiful places, you'll be captivated by the history, culture, and natural beauty that define this region. The endless landscape complex will enchant you here in the wine region of South Moravia, right next to Pálava. It was created from the 17th century to the 20th. At that time the land belonged to the Liechtenstein family domain, but today everybody can enjoy it as if they too were lords and ladies.
The axis of the area is formed by a Baroque chateau in Valtice and a Neo-Gothic chateau in Lednice. It is a giant English park. Baroque architecture meets a neo-Gothic chateau and small buildings in a romantic style.
