New Alioth racing for the first time at Eastbourne

On this day 18th July 2024 the Committee of the Eastbourne & District M B Club put on a "do" to celebrate the 100th Birthday of the President, Arthur Jackman. This video shows him sailing DF65 No.22 seated on his mobile chair with many members as an audiance. It was as well a celebration of the founding of the Club in 1924, 100 years ago. DF95 RC yachts competing in the M&S District Championships at Princes Park, Eastbourne. The background noise is from machines resurfacing a foorball pitch. If you connect via HDMI cable to TV from your computer/phone the video is reasonably good.

This the first time I fitted a GoPro Hero3 to my Britpop. I I tacked several times to bring other boats into view in an attempt to make the video interesting.

IOM Class radio controlled sailing yachts in a stiff breeze rigged with their No. 2 sized sails. I was late to arrive at the start hence this is not the first race. I had to cut it short because the rain started to fall. Sorry.

Only five boats turned out for a practice day but one of them was John Read's TS2 fitted with a wing sail. It worked very well.
