I've seen this film a few times on TCM and..for a time on"Movies" and it still makes me weep(Crying)at the wonderful moral that "Mr.McKeever"(Victor Moore's)character teaches these people..the importance of caring about others and not trying to build new structures. I still remember the last line of dialogue that "Mr.Mike O'Connor"(Charlie Ruggles)says at the end of the film..to his on screen wife"Mary..make sure that that board in the fence is nailed on tight..he's(McKever)is coming in thru the front door next year..There are greater men..more richer than I am"(Crying)that beautiful and caring line that Charlie says..still makes me weep
I been seen this film for years. My partner is a big old movie freaks and he recommended me this movie a long time ago and it became my all time favorite, it a must see for me every Christmas. I love love love the songs, That’s what Christmas means to me’ and ‘you’re everywhere’ but I can not find these two songs anywhere. Everyone I recommended to see this movie got hooked…

Great Ernst Lubitsch flick...my two favorites of his are: "Ninotchka" - 1939 and "Trouble in Paradise" 1932 ...if you haven't seen those you should definitely check them out.
