I do too normally but it rained a lot on this visit. ;-( We had to dash about indoors all the time to try and stay dry. I have another video or two of London you might like. Thank you. This footage was shot a few years ago when Julian Jones was a member of Acoustic Angels but I finally edited it to promote the up and coming Birkfest event this coming June. I have several miles of similar unseen footage that one day I must get round to attending to. ;-) Only 24 hours in a day unfortunately.

@@JackTodhunter In July 2013, the BBC announced that Ackroyd had been dismissed after what was considered to be an unspecified "breach of contract" and would not return to present Look North. Ackroyd's freelance contract was terminated without compensation.

They have just released a few new numbers. I was at the gig last week when they were launched. ;-)

Each to his own I suppose. From my experience as an English teacher, Christa was informative, supportive and inspirational in my classroom. She came in several times at her own expense to help us with media work and I am very grateful that she was willing to interrupt her busy schedule to make the long trip to visit us. She even had the good humour and grace to appear in one of our school pantomimes. The shocked look on the faces of our audience will remain with me for ever. Their animated expressions said "Is it her? It can't be! It is you know! Wow!" Priceless

There's no easy answer to this question. The accents of English you mention are all spoken in the UK. There are many more varieties over here too. Lots are regional, several are class-based. I speak with a Northern English accent which is fine here where I live but can cause issues if I travel around Britain. Some people might not pronounce certain words the way I do and ask me to repeat myself...some comment on my accent and try to work out where I come from and some rude people try to 'correct' me! A bit cheeky. I went to Ohio in the US a few years ago and people said my accent was very easy to understand...easier than RP or Cockney or the Queen's!!! Lots of American accents seemingly share my Northern vowel sounds. This initially puzzled my friends in Ohio because they were expecting someone with RP pronunciation as this was the English accent they heard on TV and in film most often in British media. Many language schools around the world promote RP or General American Pronunciation to teach their programs. When I was younger, a Bavarian school I visited had students who used both 'universal' forms of educated English in class with no real problems. Hope this helps.
