Hey Brittany, I love watching your writing vlogs and this mid-year check in for writing! I wanted to see how your journal is looking like now, since it's already the mid-year. I like the idea of how you track your chapters in your journal but wanted to see a full idea. If you don't mind sharing in a video, would be nice to see all the trackers and see how your journal is going for writing wise :)

I'm sure WYMTM will be fine and you'll get through all the problems. As for me, welllll... I finished the first draft of FW2 after six months of slog. History fiction is really difficult... one mistake and you'll have the reader rolling their eyes. Now I'm working on finishing the 1st draft of DW. It's already 100K words, and I expect to add another 30K to that. Things I've learned in the last 12 months. (1) I'm turning into a terrible overwriter - blah blah blah - and (2) I need to work significantly faster. Like, 20% faster. I can take less breaks and make them shorter, which will help, but I'll also be doing more tippy-tappy. And in October I'll be resuming work on FT book 2. Yay, mermaids.

I'm trying to get into the writing mood, so I'm gonna be catching up on your writing vlogs! I think the Google Maps research is such a great idea. I never even thought about distance and the exact location of where the characters would live...

Hi Brittany ! It took me almost a year to write a book which was not published but the rights are still held by the potential publisher. Its a non fiction account of the " shoegaze " scene of music in the early 90's & the genre is enjoying a resurgence so , fingers crossed 🤞 the book might still appear ! Good Luck with your continued writing & stay positive 👍

Your collection is amazing ❤ I also have some Hannah Montana CDs, the Camp Rock 2 soundtrack, Jonas in LA soundtrack, Miley, Demi, Selena, Taylor....these people were my whole childhood and I will never get rid of these CDs, they bring me so much nostalgia 😂❤❤

Well, I've finished the first draft of FW2 - 115K words. Phew! Time for a break, and some jobs that have been waiting far too long. What shall I do after that? Something that I abandoned in order to write about a mermaid.
