a timelapse video of the night sky on 7.17.2023. taken near Mee Canyon on the Colorado River. my group spotted the starlink satellite earlier in the evening. I unfortunately did not capture it with this video.

Paddled Loma to Westwater 6/18-6/20/2023 on a 11' stand up paddle board, with friends in inflatable kayaks. Colorado River was flowing at approximately 22,000 CFS. Camped at Fault Like 2 and Split Rock. My friend Naka put together this video.
Ruby Horsethief Canyon / Colorado River

Paddled through Ruby Horsethief Canyon, starting out at a very flooded Rimrock. Camped at Mee #3 May 5th and 6th, allowing for a long hike into Mee Canyon. Took out at Westwater on May 7th. River was 22,000 - 26,000 CFS. Used a 15' inflatable kayak.

Paddling through Black Rocks, a section of Ruby Horsethief Canyon on the Colorado River. The water flow was approximately 22,300 CFS this day, 05/07/2023. The high spring runoff made me nervous, to say the least, but I moved thru Black Rocks as quick as I could and stayed to the left of the river (numerous people recommended a center/left line). What kind of kayak is that? Also, what kind of advise can you give me for this trip? Planning to go this august!
@zebravideo it's the Advanced Elements convertible - it's been one of my best investments. Big sale on it right now at REI. This section is easy enough. Just be aware of where your campsites are so you don't miss them. Side hikes in Rattlesnake, Mee, Knowles or McDonald Canyon are worth the stop.

it was the best progressive rock show I've ever seen, going back all the way to the days of Emerson Lake and Palmer, and Frank Zappa, ...sadly, there was no flute player on his earlier stop in Portland...it's rock, so you don't want it to be flawless and seamless, But it was the closest thing to that without taking on any stodginess...Some of the songs from "Hand Cannot..." were brilliant beyond compare, like Ancestral. It's supposed to sound a whole lot better live. And it did. Jeff Beck in 1999 and the aforementioned E, L, and P, in 1971, are the only two shows that I would put in the same class as this current SW tour.
National Geographic all up in here! :)
