These locations were relatively close, but definitely not walking distance from each other. You could make a day out of it! 😊 There were some other locations from the movie that we wanted to see, but they were a couple of cities away from these spots. @@TheMainStreetDuo Australia would love to have you! Please do come. If you want to know a little secret… Go to the mid north coast between Sydney and Port Macquarie. There are some very special waterfalls, bushland, beaches and things but they aren’t as crowded as Sydney and surrounds. In Wauchope there is a place called Timbertown. It has a working steam train and some cool Australian history. The Wingham museum is also worth a visit.

We caved for one fast food meal for convenience, but yes, we really wanted to try the local stuff. We are glad we did because we talk about those meals all the time!

They serve soba, Ramen etc. but Soba is their most popular dish so maybe that’s why. Thanks for the info! We definitely cleansed before and after 😄

I thought the same thing very underwhelming compared to the already existing coco kay and the new plan that carnival has rolled out

Unfortunately we did not get the full experience because the island wasn’t fully ready. Definitely wouldn’t call visiting a beautiful Bahamian island “boring” 😄

To be fair, the Imagineers were not looking to create a carbon copy of Coco Cay. The focus was first and foremost the Bahamian culture and natural beauty of the island. I think they achieved this greatly by being respectful of the environment as well - not building a giant water park a la Coco Cay. Natural beauty in the Bahamas on an island with great food and lounge chairs? Sign me up.

Agreed! It’s a much different walk/situation than the other ports of call (especially Castaway Cay). We are curious to see if Disney modifies anything in the future to add more shade 🤞🏼

@@TheMainStreetDuo definitely think some shade should be added there. They didn’t account for weather and mobility issues. Make the walk more “optimal”.

Hopefully things are smoothed out by then. Sometimes they adjust things when they see what does/doesn’t work on the first few cruises. Hope you have a great time! 😊

The tumbler can be found at majority of the bars on the island. I’m sure they could help you if you just wanted the souvenir tumbler without the drink 😊

Flies were abundant by the food counter. We definitely stayed clear of the food we saw the flies actively landing on. We noticed the right side of True-True Too BBQ had the flies but the left side did not so we went left lol

Thanks for the kind words Arlene 😊 It’s hard to pick a favorite because each provided something unique. We enjoyed Shinjuku because it gave us that classic busy city feel that we think of when we think of Japan, especially with so many things to look at like the Godzilla head and 3D cat billboard. But we most enjoyed the slower paced areas, at least to settle in/return to for lodging purposes. For this reason we enjoyed Ginza and pretty much all of Kyoto. It was very relaxing and quiet. In Kyoto we could hear the insects as we would walk to the closest Lawson’s and it was lovely. Plus the buildings were stunning and there was plenty of greenery everywhere. As far as food goes, the Soba/Ramen we had in Ginza was next level and Age 3 in Ginza was amazing too. More specifically with Japan foods, we loved daifuku and would eat it daily if we lived there and also mitarashi dango really surprised us. We loved the texture and flavor of that thing! 😄

Price/location/theming etc. Disneyland Hotel is located right outside Tokyo Disneyland. MiraCosta is attached to Tokyo DisneySea and is similar price to TDH. Fantasy Springs Hotel is the newest hotel and the most expensive. It’s located next to DisneySea as well
