www.lungandsleep.com.au
Remember to always investigate further if a patient has had pneumonia twice in the same area of the lung. In this case, it was found that the right middle lobe of the lung was obstructed by a tumour. Watch this case as I demonstrate the importance of CT chest and bronchoscopy in the investigation of pneumonia.

I have "long covid" and this makes sense to me. I think viruses have always been able to damage the nervous system. And all of the stressors you mentioned have also always been able to damage the nervous system. So it was the perfect storm for many & a potent virus. Long Covid is nerve and tissue damage from inflammation - in different places for different people & there's just something different about Covid's spike proteins that we don't understand. Stress also can cause inflammation.. big time. I wish we never separated mental and physical health in our thought processes. It's always been 1 thing - a whole concept that we split in 2. Medicine would be so much farther in its evolution if we hadn't done that.

This vid totally disregards the fact that people who suffer from this “made up” long covid area still indeed suffering from it. Just because you don’t know what is doesn’t make it nonexistent. Sounds to me like you need to get off your soap box and actually do some research if your own. The inability of your cells to intake and process oxygen is a very real thing and has many negative effects on the body, as one could imagine.

Is a bronchoscope better than CT scans of the airways to detect collapse of the airways?

    • @LungSleep

Yes because Bronchoscopy gives you a dynamic view and a CT is only a single breath hold. You can do an expiratory view on CT. But Bronchoscopy shows what happens during breathing and coughing

Hi Dr Harsh. I'm from Gippsland Victoria. I have a sleep study test in Melbourne on Monday at Monash lung & sleep. Not sure what to expect. I've been having issue with falling asleep whenever I sit down watching tv. It doesn't matter what time it is even if it's first thing in the morning. This happens every time I sit down. I'm ok if I'm busy doing things around the house. This has only been happening the last say 18 months. I have noticed I have been getting very irritable and grumpy and a bit of anxiety. Hopefully my dr and the team at Monash can find out what the issue is. I'm a little worried that if I am diagnosed with sleep apnea will I lose my licence? Having my licence is a big thing for me as I attended a lot of classic car meets and events. I also need my licence due to where I live.

What an assh...! Docs like this contribute to the frustration that follows such a covid infection. Diagnosis, prognosis, You brush it off as simply hocus pocus! Shame on you. I escaped covid completely until December 2023. (Never had a vaccine!) I was tested only because everyone at my healthcare facility had to have one. No symptoms. I was shocked to be told I was positive. Stayed in bed for Five days. Developed a nasty sporadiç cough but nothing else really,- a bit more tired. It's been three weeks since my test came up negative and I’m getting mire exhausted everyday. I feel like I'm wasting my life. On day five I was negative and feeling quite well. Went around doing normal activities. The next day I woke up dead. I've been yawning l, barely keep my eyes open,my vision is suddenly VERY diminished. The pain in the back of my knees makes it all but impossible to get up and walk. I still have a cough and now deal with shortness of breath. Shower or activity u say???HA! I've been able to get a shower only once.. too exhausting to think about. A walk would be impossible. Resting often ironically lends to a horrible headache. How sad. You eant us to meditate it away. You sir are an idiot.
