Civic Type R FL5 @ Pacific - 1:34.33 - Proformance - 03 July 2024
First time at Pacific in the FL5, and first time back at Pacific since May 2023. The car was pretty unstable in R+, so I had to swap to Individual Mode to put the dampers in Comfort mode. This helped the car settle out quite a bit, but prevented me from disabling VSC, which meant I had to drive around the interventions. Ambient Temps were high 70’s. Landed a 1:34.33, but easily a low 33 if not 32 on the ECF.
Curious how a softer suspension setup will respond at the Ridge. Might have to play around with that, or explore picking up the DE5 ADS Module.

How is the car handling thermals? Can you do a full 20 min session at this pace or do you have to take cool down laps to avoid limp mode and/or temperature warning lights?
All depends on ambient. Below 70* the car is unphased by temps. At 85* oil started getting warm, but apparently the internal gauge reads a little high since it’s inferred. As ambient rises, IATs rise and start to pull some power too. In 85* I was able to do 4-5 B2B hot laps with the heat on before backing off at my threshold for inferred oil temps. No limp, no warnings, and nothing an Oil Cooler + Radiator won’t fix. It’s definitely not plagued with the same issues at the FK8.
