I may be mistaken, but at least once, you had your son crack open the bleed valve before you pulled on the brake handle. For example, you told him to open the bleeder, and then afterwards you pulled on the lever. At least that is what it looked like on the video. I am just a beginner, but it seems to be that if you crack open the bleed valve and then pull in the handle, you would be sucking in air. Am I mistaken?

I use one of these cars for a company vehicle. And I gotta say. It gets around pretty good for what it is. It's light and that little AWD system pulls the car thru some muddy spots and bar ditches. For light off road stuff it's a capable little machine.

As an aircraft mechanic you learn too much lube is worse than no lube. More lube attracts more particulates. More particulates speeds up wear process.

Apply the brake lever 3 or 4 times with the bleeder valve closed, the caliper farthest from the master cylinder open the bleeder valve , watch the air bubbles and fluid escape from the the caliper. Now close the bleeder valve and repeat the same process until all the air is out then do the same process on the right side caliper. Always check fluid level. If you have a bleeder kit reverse the fluid from the bottom to the top, open bleeder valve on the left caliper and push fluid in then close it watch the air bubbles come to the top of the master cylinder , make sure you have the cover off , then do the same on the right caliper , should have even pressure on the brake lever... Hard lever .
