Rest in peace Charlie Watts . I’ve been a drummer since about 1965 and I learned a lot from Charlie. One very important thing lots of guys never learn is to not over play. A story about Charlie that I like which surprised me because I always looked at him as a very gentle soul is the one about when mike called Charlie his drummer. They were in a hotel and it pissed Charlie off so Charlie went to mix room and when Mick opened the door he clocked in pretty hard. He told me to never refer to him as his drummer again. I’m pretty sure Mick never did that again😂

i used to be in awe before this masterpiece single-take live set. i've now realized mick's vocals are live and amazing, but everything else appears to be playback; 0:08 notice how keith is just standing around chatting as the music suddenly starts without warning, and he scrambles to grip his guitar and hit his chords, and he gets the first couple of chords wrong. notice how in all following repetitions of the same musical phrase, the series of chords immediately following the first 2 are lower down the neck (i.e. further from the body), before moving back up. keith however hits all chords in the first couple of seconds close to the body, including those following the first 2. any actual guitar player can confirm?

I was at that concert 🎉🎉. The tribute to Charlie Watts was beautiful and phenomenal and amazing 🎉🎉. The Stones are empty without Charlie 🎉🎉
