Man that Drifting to far from the shore.
Hank Williams Sr is # 1 and then The Stanley Brothers then. Hank Jr i have never heard any of then play a bad song.
late 50's saw bluegrass popularity plummet, that's when they moved to Florida. My question: When did Bluegrass have a revival post late 1950s ? was it the 70's or 80's or 90's?
I thank that there is Any Others that can beat the Stanley Brothers and the Clinch Mountain Boys😊
Yep I'm still hear at 64 in 25

Loved every minute of it. Until Mort took it too far at the end.
Always a pleasure these guys! Greetings from Germany!
So great to hear Carter in his prime, and I love to hear them rip on the breakdowns. That's the way we used to do it back home.
Absolutely agree! The "old school" is so honest.. a stamina that no longer exists today!
I'm from Eastern Kentucky and feel the same way, TN friend.
I'm 75, wait, 75-and-a-half, and I've followed them the same way for 50 years! It's an addiction, I'm convinced.
And best wishes to your country and your people. We should be allies!
You're so right, Patricia!

Orange Blossom Special never sounded better !
純度の高いサウンドです。❤
I had a live tape I bought from Raplh in the early nineties. I think this is it. If they do Crazy Arms, I'm good. They got interrupted by thunderstorms. Curly Lambert on mandolin, he sings Crazy Arms. This recording was "insturmental" in my bluegrass career. Pretty sure this is it. Same era. The best singing. Ever. Thank you so much!
They are great glad to see them
NEED MORE IN AMERICA
I wish Sirius/XM had a classic Bluegrass channel. Most of today’s grass pales in comparison.
"Please don't whip little Ben" .... Makes me long for the good ol' days!
Justin, are you a local here at the Octoraro Creek between Conowingo and Rising Sun where the New River Ranch once was? How did you get a recording of the Stanley’s there? I know that Ralph was a regular booked act at Sunset Park in West Grove PA. after Carter passed away in ‘64. I was too young for New River Ranch. I live right down the road from there. I got to see a lot of these country and bluegrass greats at Sunset Park until it closed in 1996.
I see Napier was there in the mix too. Great, great show.
The soul of VA.mt music and they all have their heart mind body and soul to carry on with the job of showing us all the traditional and very best of the music for ageless timeless bluegrass seeds for generations
Thank you for providing this glimpse into musical and cultural history. The music sounds so heartfelt and sincere. I wish I could have visited New River Ranch at Rising Sun. I was only 12 years old at the time and living in Staunton, Virginia.
A great recording. They were really in their prime at that time.
I do to they would be best of all time
hello to all and good luck 😍😍😍I love you guys😍😍😍
Wow!

Thanks so much for these Live shows. I frequently listen to one of these shows as the first music I listen to in a day. Give me the Stanleys and The Osbourne Brothers and I'm good.
The Lord's music. Hot dang
Baltimore was a place that was home to many mountain folks from Southwest Virginia including many of my family who went there for jobs then let a lot stayed
Love this song sung by Jack
