I am Catholic and I live in the US and would love a netela to use while praying. An Ethiopian church member told me that both men and women wear white cloth in the Ethiopian church to show humility and to show that we are all equal before God. Learning that really impressed me, because usually when people talk about covering in church they only talk about it in terms of women and modesty. But I think the Ethiopian explanation is more robust. Not only is the netela beautiful, but I like it better because it is longer and provides more coverage. It also stays on better than other shawls or scarfs. A lot of Christian women are wearing veils more and more and I think it would be good to speak about the advantages of netela to them. Bonus points if you can get the men to wear the cloth too!
