I have a roller cam 351w, an LS1 with a siezed crank and a bare LQ4 6L block in my front yard. I can build one of those or I might buy something. I have thought about buying a used PSI 8.8L industrial engine. Anyway, can't wait for the next video, Im here for it.

Give me a Small block Chevy any day over the LS. Love the gold with the bare Aluminum look.

I'll always love the old school hotrod shit. Just don't make em like they used to. This engine will make a car haul serious ass.

You ever get your hands on a pair of the old school Pontiac sbc heads that Brodix made for the cup cars back in the day ?

I put a pair on a customer's engine years ago. I'm looking at a pair now with a matching Bowtie intake. Pretty good heads.

Makes ya wonder why gm didn’t just throw longer rods and shorter pistons and just made them all tall deck

You got some awesome stuff brother , you ever think about making more videos of you assembling engines? Maybe even run em in some project of yours I think it would help your channel grow for sure. Good stuff.

I probably would if I had a camera operator. I'm usually alone. And the time it takes me to put one together would be a serious time involvement. Would be a 3 month long video. I need to learn editing and get a long play camera. Usually when I'm working on shit, people vanish. Might need them to pick up a big block Chevy block or something. Or push a vehicle with a spool in it up a hill and a sharp turn. Pretty difficult even with a 2600lb car.

Id like to figure out how to film a marathon build and be able to fast forward the whole video. I'm gonna look into that.

  • @christophercollins7604

He has a air gap intake, hei , Holley double pumper , ROWDY...

Only modern engines that interest me is the Ford "Godzilla" 445ci unit. That's a damn good engine to build. Better than a LS. And I'm really a GM guy. But I'll give credit were credit due.

This small block sounds very very good but the people saying the LS is boring my LS3 495 horsepower crate with the camshaft this crate comes a very mild 219/228 duration all stock LS3 crank piston and rods stock LS3 heads on E85 made 520 horsepower at 6200rpm 495 foot pounds of torque at 5000rpm at the crank and it idles at 650-700rpm in gear or drive and pulls very strong to the 6700rpm redline this very nice small block I'm pretty sure has a aftermarket crank rods pistons and heads with a camshaft with most likely over 240 duration don't get me wrong it's a cool small block besides the block nothing inside is stock it's no stock GM 350 with stock internals and heads hard to beat the LS splayed 6 bolt mains caps are rock solid at keeping the crank extremely secure to the block with no crank flex at engine speeds 7200rpm+ stock try that with a stock 350 say GM target motor with just a camshaft and valve springs and a good 58cc head see how long it takes 7000+ rpm with stock pistons rods and crank over and over again and see how long it lasts don't misunderstand l am in no way bad mouthing this very nicely setup small block what so ever

I’m not saying LS engines aren’t great engines. They have all the advantages you mentioned. But I like the Gen 1 and 2 SBC for the old school simplicity, nostalgia, and cool factor. Carb and no computer. Parts cheap and plenty.
