I think a brilliant idea would be for lots of people to make this engine. 😊 👍👍👍😉

Excellent points all. I agree entirely with your view on calling tools "home made" - even though technically correct, it just doesn't carry the same air of quality / integrity / professionalism as "shop made".

Great information, After posting my first attempt at lapping flat materials it is cool to learn there are techniques and tools for laping bores, I of course knew about honing cylinder bores and what not but this is something I didnt realize existed. Makes sense now that you shared this. I still have so much to learn. thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the shout out, I really appreciate it. You ahve really peaked my interest in model engine making, Your video has a lot of great tips when machining through a project especially about order of operations. That is key and something I am still working on to get better with. I really enjoyed the walk through with tips on the model engine build. This might be an engine I attempt someday as well. Thanks again for all the literature you have shared about model engine making. I wish I had a local machine shop I could hit up for drops. Those are the kinds of work pieces that are gold to me. Great video, I found it very useful, Thanks and I appreciate the words of encouragement.

Thx for the video! Your video format is super narrow on my tv. But I see it’s great on my iPhone.

@00:32 you're right, telling your audience they should be doing something instead of watching your content (which is evidently worth nothing as it is "doing nothing") is inspiring.

Thanks for the very kind words! Greatly appreciated. Some creators do the sticker thing - some don’t. There’s no right or wrong on that. Some channels only sell their stickers as merch. It’s not really a very important aspect. Don’tcha know. 😊 Looking forward to the engine show!

I had a couple of good items from Bostar. I almost purchased one of these but had been burned by bad product from other imports - and that’s why these reviews are so valuable - so that we can see what we can expect from different sources. 👍

I've never heard of those. .... Im struggling to recall the last time I drilled a hole in metal more than 3/8* deep. ....in wood yes. Great to know about these. .....I suppose because they're shorter, they cost less? 🤣🤣🤣

Appreciate the review. I am DONE buying el cheapo import collets which are neither round nore concentric, and that are covered in burrs. There are some decent import varieties but it’s difficult to figure out which are the good ones. I didn’t know of Lyndex - frankly that price for an actual high quality collet is very reasonable. Cheap - no. But good quality doesn’t come cheap. Thanks for the review!

I have a couple of items by Glacern and have been highly impressed. Frankly, I've bought enough cheap import stuff to have been convinced to stop doing it. I'm not saying all import stuff is bad - not at all - but there are only 3 vices I will consider, which are Kurt, Glacern and Tegara (through Shars). The Tegara is good, but the Kurt and Glacern are well ahead. for sure. NIce review, thank you for doing it. The more honest reviews are out there, the better for all of us.

Subscribed. Always good to see more home / model engineering content. 👍 I have found the various import tooling to be variable. Best bet seems to be to buy from places that have significant support in the USA. I did buy a Bostar toolpost one tome and felt it was good quality at the price point. 👍
