The call for Presidential Debate is not a request to display any showmanship. Ghana has come of age in democracy. Many African nations look up to Ghana to progress in democracy and promote civility in governance. Our presidential candidates must debate to tell the citizenry about what they can do and how they would do it. They should convince the people of why they should vote for them and not their opponents. The debate twould challenge them to bring out the reality of their vision, mission and agenda. Governance is about policy and its implementation. No party without policies should ever be allowed to govern any group of people. They will have no goal to pursue and no agenda to implement. They could only prey on people to divert attention from the real issues to be addressed. I hope the academia and civil society would come out with a time table to achieve this purpose. Presidential debate should not become a call of a candidate but the work of the civil society
