Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.
What is perhaps not emphasised enough these days, is that simple forms of worship are enough to please the mighty elephant-headed Lord. All that is required is bhakti or devotion. No elaborate worship is required to appease Lord Ganesha. Any form can be attributed to Him by a devotee. In the past or days of yore, Lord Ganesha was worshiped on Ganesh Chaturthi with simple substances like cow dung, turmeric and clay which are considered to be very auspicious. This video takes you through the philosophy of this form of Ganesha.

#HayagreevaJayanti - Vishnu Avatara #divyadesams

Sometime back we observed with the Yajurveda and Rig Veda Upakarma and also Raksha Bandhan. But on that day it was also Hayagriva Jayanthi. Who is Lord Hayagreeva? If you though Lord Vishnu just had 10 avataras , think again. As mere mortals we do not know the number yet, but it is definitely atleast 28avataras and Lord Hayagreeva is one of them and Hayagreeva Jayanthi was when he made his divi...

Several generations in Romania are still recovering from the excesses of the communist regime. The Palace of the Parliament or People's House (Casa Poporului) in Bucharest, Romania, the colossal structure and one of the largest administrative buildings in the world built by Nicolae Ceaușescu is perhaps a symbol of what lengths a megalomaniac dictator and a personality cult could go to. It has 1...

The Travancore royalty are truly remarkable. Not only did they construct this fabulous palace, but they continue to function as the true guardians of the Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, earning the title of 'Padmanabha Dasas', or servants of the Lord. Know any other royalty in the world who call themselves like this? My salutations to them.

The Rigvedic Bhrigus were very important - they were the first to introduce the fire-ritual and the Soma-ritual; and were the first to discover the nexus between fire and water (Apam Napat). The Bhrigus were associated with water as also fire. Hence their connection Lord Varuna-Mitra and Agni. The expanse of the mouths of the Sindhu was their stronghold - That is the reason that the present day Baruch was known as Bhrigu-kaksha or Bhrigu kaccha the region of the Bhrigus. The Bhrigus considered ancestor (pitris) and Asura (old Gods) worship paramount. The Supreme Asura was Varuna the Asura Mahat (the mighty Asura) was highly venerated by the Bhrigus. Their main text was the Atharvaveda. 𝗩𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝘃𝗲𝗱𝗮 (𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁). Varuna is described as kingly (Raja) (RV 7.87.6), kshatra (secular power, sovereignty and kingship) and Kshatriya; the king of gods (MS 2.21); the king of the territories (raja-raastranam) (RV 7.34.11); an independent ruler (svaraja) (RV 1.28.1); the self-dependant ruler (svaraat), and samraja the universal monarch (RV 1.36.1; 8.42.1). Thank you for using my Kalki being trained by PArashurama piece!

6:05 - In the Taittirya Upanishad - Bhrigu Valli, Rishi Bhrigu is said to be the son of VAruna. To quote - Bhrigu Vâruni went to his father Varuna, saying: "Sir, teach me Brahman." He told him this, viz. Food, breath, the eye, the ear, mind, speech. Then he said again to him: "That from whence these beings are born, that by which, when born, they live, that into which they enter at their death, try to know that. That is Brahman." Additionally as background - In the Brahma Yagna, Brigu was born and he was raised by Varuna the ocean God and thus called Varuna Putra. Varuna was performing the sacrifice. This is explained in detail in Brahmanda Purana Volume 2 Chapter 1.
