I can’t run, have serious problem with right knee but no locking. I had bruising on my rear delt right above the arm pit with pain that radiated down into the lat area from a non contact breakdancing injury. I had fine range of motion but pain when lifing my arm at some angles especially with swift movement. I cant figure out if it was a labrum tear or a rotator cuff or a tear of my rear delt. There is hardly any info out there on the rear back shoulder area. 9 weeks later it feels almost fully healed but I still dont know what it was. I was so scared it was not going to heal but luckily I am training again.

    Hi! I went to a PT with an elbow issue that they kind of just brushed off. I have pain when I extend my left elbow in a tricep pushdown motion with a neutral grip. So when using a rope attachment in the gym. If I use a straight bar with pronated grip the pain lessens drastically. The pain also only occurs when I extend my elbow with force so when I lift weights. Doesn't hurt to just extend it. Also only hurts at a very specific angle of extension. About 160 degrees of extension is where the pain comes in. Before that, it is painfree and also after that point. Only at that specific angle will I get pain under load on a neutral grip. Any idea if this rehab for Tennis Elbow would be beneficial? My elbow do hyperextend if that is related in any way.

    • @fitnesspainfree
      @fitnesspainfree Před 4 dny

    Thank you so much for this. There’s a lot of confusion of what happens after your sling comes off in 6 wks but really the sling should mostly on until 12 wks so you’re not aggressive with the injured arm. I thought maybe I could start crossfit after 3 months but like you indicated it needs to ramp back after 3 monthes so I’m delaying crossfit to starting back in maybe 4 months. This is super important info. Nobody wants to go back and have surgery from a retear because I’ve been warned retear surgery outcomes are not as good as the first repair. Mine was traumatic full retracted tear of my Supra from running into a wave pool wall while surfing. in week 4 after the repair. My surgeon insisted no isometrics PT until 3 months and we were wondering why. He said it was because I had a full tear but as your video indicates really it takes 3 months to heal before you can actively start loading it. I’m 58.

    Can you do a video on GIRD. I see many different takes on how to deal with the posterior cuff tightness. I see many types of interventions but not sure what the recent literature says.

    • @fitnesspainfree
      @fitnesspainfree Před 5 dny

      Anything specific? GIRD is generally something specific to overhead athletes (throwers) and less relevant for a general population. I don’t put much effort towards improving it in the average person. Also GIRD isn’t relevant without measuring total arc of motion with it. I summarized my thoughts here: czcams.com/video/hixQiHhKylM/video.htmlsi=svrnlXRUN-tJCB97 At champion we mainly use soft tissue techniques to improve ROM into IR and don’t stretch although stretching is all over the literature.

Rehab arguing I don’t need ultra sound therapy. Had to fight for it. It does help with inflammation and scar tissue. Complained about instability. Told I have an arthritic knee and am going to need a knee replacement. By surgeon. He never told me about how it would feel post surgery. I had almost rehabilitated it before surgery. It feels worse now. Rehab only going thru the motions no challenge. I keep saying it feels wobbly. And what happened to my muscle tone! I can visually see the weakness in Surgury knee. Some therapist I met told me strong and tight external rotators would lead to anterior glide of the humerus and cause problems with the biceps tendon. He said imagine the external rotators as a strap at the back of the humerus and when you tighten the strap it pushes the humerus forward. Its counterintuitive as the external rotators should pull the humerus back. What do you think?

Unfortunately, I couldn’t play at all last season, but I’m back on the field now, relying on painkillers before each match. However, the pain is severe afterward, and I'm unable to move for days.
