It's amazing how people can reach each other's hearts with the power of stories, even if they're short and sweet. This video got to me, while I was contemplating whether I should share my hurt and my way of coping with the world today with my own audience. I was not sure, because I also believe that hurt creates hurt. But as I watched your beautiful message, I was reminded that hope is what defines humans. This is so wonderful! I'm struggling with starting. I know I can start very well and put everything in at the beginning as I've done before. The hard part is trusting that I can keep it up for as long as needed. I suppose that is the main fear of most people. Not that we can't start, but starting with all the hope in the world, and then being able to fight all the little or big moments of discouragement that will probably come at you throughout the day and every day. You want to know that you can fight off discouragement the first 10 times but not let the 11th take you down. And it's so easy to lose sight when you're focusing on survival. I think you REALLY need to have those people (or that person) around you who believes in you and reminds you that you're worth it. That's also why community is so important. Make connections not just to get job leads but to form bonds with "your people" who can encourage you or tell you the honest truth when you need it, and for whom you can give back that encouragement. It's a very healthy cycle and I don't think we as creatives can perservere without it. The creative life can be extremely lonely. I'm having trouble finding "my people".

Great argument and explanation. I took your advice and started watching D.P. I noticed the diffusion right away, very pronounced. The cinematography on this show is very good. I'm on Episode 2 and that scene when the train is coming to the station has the most amazing lens flare I've ever seen. Just stunning. Looks to be a real flare due to the particular lens used, but could also be done on post. What do you think?
