What I find so admirable...? To touch the right hole and immediately begin with the right bending. When I hit the right hole I tend first to start with the unbended note and then flow to the right bending. That off course is not right. It is jealousmaking how you do this. I suppose it requires a lot of practice!
Hi, tonnie! Yeah, bending directly trying to reach the right note is a permanent training for me too. I'd recommend trying to play on the 4th hole 1st, since there is only 1 bend there. So, a nice exercise would be playing direct 4-' and releasing to 4-. Then, go to the 2nd hole, trying to start with -2'', release to -2', and then -2. After, try the other way around. Start with -2', go to -2'' and release to -2. Finally, the 3rd hole is the harddest since there are 3 bends, very difficult to control

Oi homme, muito bom! You have inspired me to examine the scale more. I would love to know what backing track you used for this clip. I love to play around with the Phrygian Dominant scale. I add the b3 here and there. So far, I play it only in 1st position on harps in keys Ab-Eb. It conjures up in my mind's eye visions of hookahs, hashish, harems, camels and flying carpets, in no particular order. It's a rather meditative exercise for me, plus it keeps my chops in good shape. I discovered the scale quite by accident a few years ago when I was first learning how to play overbends. It was one of the most thrilling discoveries I have ever made, besides discovering Porto Seguro, Bahia, Brasil in 1991. It was all Lambada there then, but I soon found that Brasil digs the blues, too. In the early 2000s, I finally met Flavio Guimaraes, briefly, at the very end of one of his Blues Etilicos gigs in Rio. Salve mano, excelente cover. Eu tô pensando em pegar uma diatonica baratinha pra começar, você acha que vou ter problema pra achar música pra ela?
Fala, mano, obrigado! Então, a gaita bem baratinha serve pra brincar, mas começa a complicar quando vc precisa tirar os bends. Elas exigem muito esforço e não soam legal, a ponto de eu quase ter desistido de tocar gaita por causa disso hahaha. Com uma gaita bem baratinha vc vai conseguir tirar algumas melodias mais simples, acredito eu. Mas depois pra evoluir e fazer a gaita chorar seria interessante investir um pouquinho mais e pegar pelo menos umas gaitas de bom custo/benefício (umas Easttop, kongsheng, por aí, no mínimo)

@@quensoueu1 Isso, normalmente é a gaita em dó mesmo que usamos. Vc até consegue tirar nessa gaita músicas originalmente de outras tonalidades, mas daí pode ser que essas melodias requeiram os bends. E os bends podem ser penosos de tirar hahaha, mas dá!!

Hi, Kevin! I guess the 1st step to bend notes is to have a good harmonica. I first started with a very cheap harmonica and I almost gave up learning it. And 2nd step is trying hahaha. I first started bending the 4th hole, then the others. Tuning the 3rd hole bend is very difficult, I still practice it until today

Comecei vendo alguns vídeos na internet mesmo, depois fiz alguns meses de aula com André Silva aqui em Curitiba, fiz outras aulas com Leandro Lopes e mais várias aulas online com Igor Kasuya. Hoje estou meio parado, mas volta e meia tento treinar uma coisa ou outra!

@@rebeca2085 Eu tb só consigo qd é gaita, e ainda assim tenho que deixar o som beeeem lerdo pra conseguir pegar hahaha. Pra adaptar de sax dá sim, só tem que tomar cuidado que as partituras de Sax são normalmente em tons diferentes do que da música original. Tem que transpor daí
