Your first death reminded me. One of the first things I noticed is they nerfed being passive in this game, so even on this difficulty it made no sense for me to play like the way I played Ys 8. Normal attacks offer almost no functionality outside of when you goof and are completely out of SP or you just want to stun lock enemies when you have no skills available. Playing it like how you played Ys8 is the right way. Just stun lock the early enemies as much as possible and unload whenever because your sp recharge is really high to start and normal attacks give nothing back until you get the charge attack monstrum ability.

Streets of Turnabout Axel Stone: Ace Police Officer

This was such a great way to end Ys VIII. Instead of just stopping at the "final boss" and "the end," it stops at what's basically a new beginning--for Adol and Dana, and the world itself. Makes me wonder, can humans pull this off in the real world? Because things are quite dark on this side of the fourth wall.

Thank you for making this! I was just about to extend it myself, I've recently gotten into Etrian Odyssey and heard this on Yuzo Koshiro's spotify and fell in love with this one! And I thought that the EOIV town theme was good, this one is just incredible.
