Chopin Nocturne in F Minor
zhlédnutí 570Před 5 měsíci
Performance by my son, Jack, aged 17. Recorded at a school concert in October 2023. This was Jack's first ever public performance. He headlined the program and led the students in thanking their piano teacher. I am very proud of the touch and sensitivity that he shows in this performance. He also plays electric guitar in 2 rock bands.
Barrios - C Minor Prelude
zhlédnutí 564Před 5 měsíci
I've always wanted to play a Barrios piece because I adore his compositions. I picked this piece because of its moody, lyric qualities and similarity to the Bach D Minor Prelude. Frankly, this piece is out of my league (although its one of the easier Barrios pieces) and I can't really do justice to it, but I enjoy playing it. It is very difficult on the left hand. Guitar by Gore & Reatti, recor...
Guiness The Menace - Sydney University Engineering Revue 1993
zhlédnutí 69Před 5 měsíci
I've been asked a few times about my musical background. I started playing around 8 or 9 and music has always been a part of my life. I played in a few bands over my teens and early 20s, but this is only recording I have of my early playing (aged ~21). I've uploaded it as a reference. This is the 1993 Sydney University Engineering Revue. I was part of the band (the tall long haired bloke at rig...
Taranta - into the underworld
zhlédnutí 389Před 5 měsíci
A basic Taranta, which is one of my favourite Flamenco Palos. This piece is based on a range of different sources, including lessons with Paco Lara. Guitar by Gore & Reatti, recorded on iPhone with Shure MV88
Bulerias - first test

My first attempt at a Bulerias. It is very challenging for me to play this at tempo, but it's great fun. Guitar by Gore and Reatti, recorded on iPhone with Shure MV88

Seguiriyas - looking deep
zhlédnutí 785Před rokem
A Seguiriyas with elements from Juan Martin's book "El Arta Flamenco De La Guitarra", Paco Lara and some other online resources. Seguiriyas is probably my favourite Flamenco Palo. It is a solemn Palo and belongs to Cante Grande. It is also known as siguerillas, siguirillas, siguiriyas. This take includes an improvised line at the start, which I hadn't intended to include, but thought it added s...
Soleares - reality check
zhlédnutí 421Před 2 lety
A solea that is a combination of Juan Martin (from his book "El Arte Flamenco De La Guitarra"), Kai Narezo (“Flamenco Explained”) and Paco Lara (with whom I have taken some lessons). Compared to my first attempt, I am now using more traditional flamenco technique, including thumb rest stroke. It is lots of fun to play this. Guitar by Gore & Reatti, recorded on iPhone with Shure MV88
Mary had a little lamb - Ala SRV / Buddy Guy
zhlédnutí 291Před 2 lety
A rendition of "Mary had a little lamb" in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy. This song was a regular piece of mine back in the day (30 years ago). I've never had a vocal lesson in my life, but perhaps in the future I might do some more singing and get some proper training. Guitar by Gore & Reatti, recorded on iPhone with Shure MV88.
Scarlatti - Sonata K 208
zhlédnutí 462Před 2 lety
The beautiful K208 (L238) Sonata by Domenico Scarlatti in A Major. For those unaware, Scarlatti was a baroque composer; like an Italian Bach that spent time in Spain. His music is difficult but sounds wonderful on guitar. It's a gorgeous piece that is challenging to play for me. I adore the unexpected key change in bar 8, the gentle start of the second half, and the deceptive cadence. Arrangeme...
The testament of Amelia (El Testament D'Amelia)
zhlédnutí 497Před 2 lety
A beautiful melancholic Catalonian folksong, arranged by Miguel Llobet. This folksong tells the story of a young woman who poisons herself after learning her step-mother has won the heart of her husband. Guitar by Trevor Gore, recorded on iPhone with Shure MV88.
Prelude #3 (Homenagem a Bach), by Heitor Villa-Lobos - unorthodox version
zhlédnutí 356Před 2 lety
This is my unorthodox version of Villa-Lobos' 3rd prelude, his homage to Bach. I adore this prelude because I think it is the most evocative of his preludes, combining Brazilian romanticism with a chromatic Bach baroque influence. The written order of the sections is ABB, but I have played it BAB. I feel that I can better express the sentiment of the piece with this order, although I understand...

Very good! I like Robert de Visée very much, subscribed, greetings.
I prefer Heilung's interpretation with the lyrics being sung, the piece is called "Nikkal" (after the Goddess this Hymn is dedicated to). It's hauntingly beautiful.
This would be a great metal intro
Beautiful
Ancient dudes when this dropped:🤯🤯🤯
Highly unlikely they would have used a tuning that wasn't invented until Bach's Wohltemperierte Klavier.
is it my idea or the guitar looks small
Verry intresting to see you drinking an put off your watch. Never seen things like this before.
Beer first, Rock n Roll second
Couldn’t you edit the BULLSHITO in the beginning
Have a scotch too!
Just beautiful. Imagine hearing it when it was first composed.
Did he just drink peroxide?
Would be nice to hear it in the original tones or tuning scale. These wavelengths would have been different.
Now you just need to sing along in ugaritic!
How could you read the music, presumably it was not in western musical notation. I was expecting something much cruder, it sounds like 16 century English lute music, that might be played at a Shakespeare play.
Beautiful! ❤🎵
Very soothing.
humans right ,,, amazing
Thanx
Beautiful -- - just wonderful solemn and serene at the same time.
They shouldda quit while they were ahead.
Thank you
Sounds a bit like Bruno Mars
So beautiful. Thank you.
That's a lovely piece of music. It makes me wonder how many other examples of this ancient art are forever lost to time. I found it interesting to replay it at different speeds, up to 1.75x. Nice one.
How did they solve the voices of it ? This is incredible if it really was this.
Just marvelous! Its a lovely piece and should be easy to remember.
That was very soothing.
Is it now cringe to say that it's #6 and yet the oldest???
Doesn't sound oldfashion. ❤
Me and the homies used to just rampage thru Ur after bumpin this
That’s a serious bop. You know those parties in Ugant were lit
Silent night....
This is the basis for Scarborough Fair.

très joli
C’est un morceau des Stones ?
this melody uses the phrases of Raga Kafi!
So beautiful and calming
Tender hearted,lament. Nicely presented.
That drink looked delicious!
Musicians are so pompous. Like if its the oldest why is it number 6?
wtf
The stillness of time Between gentle chords While horses neigh Against the Impending storm And a cloud of Unknowing settles upon the land
I'm stunned by the beauty of this. Do you have more Hurrian hymns?
i thought the melody from pipe horns was the oldest known music
Kieth Richards wrote that on the first anniversary of the founding of Urgrit.
Beautiful! Moving! Touching!!
