"Classic" hardships like disease, dying at a young age, war etc. have all been (thankfully) eliminated from our lives in the developed world, and are increasingly being eliminated in the developing world. Maybe they had the same effect on transition from boy to man as a rite of passage does. But it is weird that there is no real rite of passage in modern culture and I have been searching for something like this. Thank you!

Hey Jerrad, I have a question I'm hoping to run by you. I'm a middle school PE teacher and just finished up my first full year. I was able to make some good connections with the kids(mostly surface level conversations) and really enjoyed my first year, but, I feel like I need to be doing so much more with the platform I've been given. I'm unsure how to truly impact these kids and make a lasting difference in their lives. I want to inspire them to grow and pass on wisdom to them in this short window of time that I get with them as their teacher. I wanted to reach out and ask if you have any resources on how I can better reach these kids or if you have any practical advice that comes to mind. Any bit helps, thanks for your time and for all you do! PS. I teach at a public school so I know I'm limited as far as sharing the gospel. I want to learn how I can share Jesus with these kids too, in a way that is respectful and appropriate, but this question is mostly focused on general life stuff. How can I help them become better people,etc.

Great episode and more men (not just Dads) should hear this. My wife just participated in Via De Cristo and she was telling her story about her dad and it was so powerful that it made one of the attendees (whom is a Dad) get up and run out. Because the story related to him and he didn't realize it until he heard her speak. We need to be reminded of the influence we have, regardless if we like it or want it.

God speaks. Such a blessing to feel that. Just talked to my boys about Gods word being a lamp to our feet and light to our path. That’s been my heart this past week for my sons to be God fearing and loving men of God. I want to be that man of God that my sons can have a great example of and show them what it means to be a faithful servant to the Lord and do what we are supposed to do which is to spread the gospel. I found your video podcast at the perfect time. You said exactly what’s been on my heart. Bless you brother.

To the first caller, I would definitely recommend a podcast I’ve been listening to lately called Prophecy Pros. They do a great job of explaining scripture and not over-expounding. I believe Jared’s had them on the podcast once before, but they’re a good resource as well.

I feel like this would be like a good thing to connect with your child instead of like forcing them to connect with you so I feel proud for the finally somebody taking the time I'm not saying all of them do I'm saying like some people mostly parents don't usually do this for their children but I'm happy that this parent at least gets that he's been a little bit like busy that he prioritizing his children

Erudition and argument is not the way to Faith. “Seek not to understand so you may believe, seek to believe so you may understand.” Who is the “they” we are against? We are ALL God’s children. There is only “us”. Did Jesus close his heart to ANYBODY? Even being crucified, he had love and forgiveness for those who killed him! Can we not also keep our hearts open and love those who merely insult us? How deluded to think we can go against the Supreme will. Can a leaf go against the wind? We are all His instruments. Surrender your will and become in harmony, in accord, in a chord, in tune with God’s will. Words will not go very far. Let the divine love and light shine through compassionate action. All religions have the same goal. All roads lead home. All souls have the same destiny. God is unconditional love. God is infinite compassion. God is beyond concepts or words. The true glory of God is incomprehensible. Christ drowned in the love of God, he dissolved in the Supreme, he united with the Ultimate, he evaporated into Everything. Christ is not the goal, love is. Christ is a doorway to God, but not the only doorway. Keep your heart always full of love and open to ALL people and creatures; Only then can one find true rest in God. With Gratitude! 🙏🌼💛

Hey! I have been listening to your podcast for a while, I really like what you're doing! I love your ability to be raw and proud of our Christian faith. I am interested in the right of passage to manhood that you talk about for your son. I just recently had my son and I want to give him and teach him what being a man of God truly is. Listen to his whole story, protecting his mom when he was in grade 2, unable to stay awake in school so their answer was to take his desk away, first time he felt happy was when he was beat up at the gym at age 14! The chaos, violence, cruelty in his life to never feel happiness until he is 14 years old. He now wants to be a good man, uses gym fighting as therapy, calls out his truth. An admirable man.

Big Strickland fan, to me his unfiltered nature is a breath of fresh air in an increasingly self-censored PC world. I listened to this podcast after weeks of hype leading up to it, and I noticed as well that the 2 times Sean broke down, were both when he referred to losing faith in God and less about the abuse directly. The abuse he’s joked about in the past, but the result of it and his loss in belief was what seems to trigger these emotions. It would seem he has a longing to reconnect to faith, and hopefully he hasn’t become too cynical to allow it back into his life.
