Oswestry Club Trial at New Barns
Great Trial, fantastic venue with stunning views even the weather helped and stayed dry. Mainly showing the yellow route.
Hated the rocks on section 3,4 and 5 on the first lap, loved them on the second lap.

Great trial, really enjoyed it despite making some mistakes and struggling on a couple of sections. (I'll get them next time :) ) Showing mainly the yellow, clubman route.

Observers view of all the riders of the S3 round. All in order of riders through the section. Clubman at the start, then over 40s with Experts at the end. One of the easy sections for clubman but still tricky enough to catch some good riders out

I love your setup! Colored flags, match riders tag on front of the bike! That’s an awesome way of doing it instead of a bunch of ribbons ribbons to clean up. Also like those old twin vintage bikes. We don’t see much of those here in the US
Glad you like it. The twins are mainly 350Triumphs that have been adapted for trials. Very unusual for any dirt bike to be a twin, let alone a trials bike. These seem to be successful, at least in classic trials.

Is this Gresford near Wrexham ?
It is The Gresford Classic Trials club base near Wrexham. The Trial was at Froncysyllte, again near Wrexham.
Is gresford the club?
Yes, Gresford Classic Trial Club. This is the January trial. There is one each month apart from August. Usually in North East Wales.

@@trialsted Gresford is an AMCA club. Nothing against ACU as most are or have been members. They have a Facebook page and a web page www.gresfordclassictrials.com

Ideal motorcycle single track ?
Some bits would be very hard on a motorbike. The very narrow ledge has protruding rocks that would catch the wide motorbike engine/footrests.

Trials is not racing but the art of being in control going slow. If you get the chance give it a go, you will be amazed how difficult it is but also how much fun you have.

This was such a good trial, I was gutted to have to go home early after my buddy destroyed the ligaments in his knee 😂

@@HewGSer ha, I would have done but I was the one feeling guilty, it was his first trial. Going to be off the bike for a while now as he damaged the ligaments in his knee. You can see his bike propped up by the marshal on section 7

Back in the 60's I used to dislike muddy trials. That was because my Trials Bike was my daily steed, and clocked up about 4,000 miles a year... The rear tyre was almost down to the canvas, and I couldn't afford to buy a new Dunlop Trials Universal. All the trials were road trials then, and we would ride out to each venue.
Indeed, I'm told that people used to ride their bikes up to the Scottish Six days, ride the six days and then ride home again. The nearest I've come to your tyre experience was following a rider with a 10 year old Pirelli M43 tyre riding up a slippy rocky stream. It was hard work just watching :)

It is always first or second weekend in August. In recent years it starts off at the Abbey ,works it way around passed Panorama, crosses the Dee near Froncysyllte, working its way back along the other side of the Valley before crossing again near the Chain bridge and ending up back at the Abbey.

Very different from what I ride. I don't think I could do those sections without lots of dabs. I think it was section 12 that had the elevated root/wood that looked impossible to clean. That was insane. A few big differences from what I ride: Wet, other people too close on the line, long transitions, did I say Wet. I've never even ridden when it is damp. Good on you for that ride. Hopefully you'll get the bike running again soon.
It is a great trial with 4 different level routes but still with the same great ride around. Engine rebuilt for the following weekend. Shame it’s not as easy to fix my riding😊

Funny, there was a group of quads with one solo bike starting up BYG just as we started. It looks as if they had turned back because we saw them later on.
