The King Jigme Singye Wangchuck was born in Dechencholing Palace in Thimphu, Bhutan, on 11 November 1955 to King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and Ashi Kesang Choden Wangchuck.
The political officer of India stationed in Sikkim and the representative of the Sikkimese government came soon after to offer felicitations to the royal parents and to pay their respect to the newborn prince. At the age of four, sometime in 1959, the young Crown Prince received the offerings of good wishes and respects by the public, monks, and officials for the first time in Tashichho Dzong.
His Majesty received western and traditional learning in various institutions. He began studying at Dechencholing Palace, when he was six years old, in 1961. Soon afterwards, he went to study at St. Joseph's School, Darjeeling, in India. In 1964, he attended
Heatherdown School in England
where he completed his studies in 1969.
The next phase of his formal education took place at Namselling Palace in 1969.
Finally, he attended Ugyen Wangchuck Academy at Satsham Choten in Paro, which was established in 1970, along with a class of selected students from all over Bhutan.

Heartfelt gratitude to our great fourth and the heroes of our country. Our country has come a long way since, though it’s a shame our citizens failed to serve our country back then if by any chance our country faces a similar threat right now or in the future there’s no doubt that us youths will volunteer to serve the nation. It is understandable that our citizens were not as patriotic and united as now since they might have been simple minded lacking solidarity.
I'm very grateful that i am a Bhutanese.

Northeast India rebel groups were all allowed by the king to frighten lhotsampas
Nah, they were flushed out in 2003.
@@ozelolaf4562 allowed from 1990-2003, after he used them, he killed them. They were waiting for the king in their camp with flowers, music and cultural dances. Who does that??
@@himalayahoo nope, dissidents were kicked out because they were illegal immigrants and anti-nationals. The militants were flushed out in 2003 after repeated attempts of discussions failed to convince them to leave the country. This shows how vulnerable the southern parts of the country were to illegal settlements by illegal immigrants. Individuals took advantage of it thinking Bhutan was just another easy target of being a hotbed for illegal immigrants like the rest of South Asia. How wrong they were when they got what was due.
@@himalayahoo The narrative that Bhutan allowed those militants to stay within the country are false, made up claims by individuals like Tek Nath Rizal. It won’t make sense since Bhutan values it’s sovereignty looking at their past history and actions with the British as well.
Buddha was born in Bhutan ❤️🙏
