It's the thermal expansion valve. That is the part it's leaking from the part costs between $25-$75 depending on manufacturer. It takes a few minutes to change then add freeon no need to add PAG because the was likely too much added in the first place to make the valve fail.

Hey i beleieve i am having the same problem. So with the temp sensor being coated with that slime not having the temp gauges illuminate. Should the radiator still gurle into the reservoir of its overheating??

Mine still does that after replacing timing chains guides and tensioners, new oil and filter The rattle is the cam phasers, particularly the inlets

Are you able to get the rocker covers off without having to take almost everything apart in the engine bay? Also, is it a reasonable expectation to change the lifters with the engine still in the truck? Thanks

Good video. The only thing I would have done different was maybe get a can of engine gunk and a pressure washer and cleaned the engine before I took it apart. Lots of dirt on that engine you don't want falling down inside. I have a 3.8 supercharged in my Impala that I will have to do gaskets on soon.

Clean the fins of the radiator and A/C condenser and take off that stupid cover on top of the engine and watch the temp go down. Why they took out the front grill I will never understand. Not enough air goes into the front of the engine to cool it down. The air coming in from under the front makes it a giant vacuum cleaner, sucking up tons of stuff while driving. I am planning to remove the cowling in front of the radiator and add some more window screen to keep the junk out of the radiator. The 3.5 engines are garbage, hastily made and not thought out before throwing them in as a replacement for the 3.8. The 3.8 is still one of the best engines built by GM.

How long will it take me to do my valve covers I got a Chevy tracker 4x4 2.5 v6

Having my passenger side done tomorrow at the shop, I don’t have much tools, no abs wires on that bearing? My backyard mechanics that I usually hire to do mechanic work don’t seem to want to do the bearing assembly lol that’s fine. It sure wore down my brand new winter tires :/ I did hear a noise to, I should have known it was the bearing, I thought it was just my brand new tires lol.

My 2015 crv has the occasional rattle at start up do you think i can replace the tensioner without taking everything apart ,just the cover plate it seems veri close or a bit under the crank pulley thanks .

OMG. Just picked up my 2000 Oldsmobile intrique , 90 000 km, from the repair shop: Had some tiny leaks. Miniscule leaks, but my husband is so fussy.) The pressure test suggested new water pump. After installation it overheated. Never overheated before. Could not bleed it fully. Installed new thermostat. Still overheats. Suggesting head gasket. But can not get one. Was told "car is too old!"?
