That part of Ghost in the Shell always bothered me a bit, if you're building a robot and you want want fast IO the obvious solution is to have a usb connector that pops out of the arm or something, not to handle it like biology handles it. So many fragile moving parts

It could also just be that in this universe the security is just garbage everywhere and there are no secure protocols and it's easier to work around that problem than fix it
