Bob scurted around the question of fixing the culture with law enforcement. If you really listen to his answers, he doesn't actually answer the questions and misquotes his opponent Dave Reichert to try to get ahead. What a slime ball. You support criminals and tying the hands of law enforcement. That goes for Department of Corrections also, you have your hands in there also, making it impossible for probation officers to supervise felons in the community. Dave Reichert is right, they dont want more money, they want to be supported and want to be able to do the job they are sworn to do! Protect the community, not the criminal!!!!

He is spot on about the parol board! They let them out and put them on supervision, then prevent the probation officer from doing their job by not allowing them to violate the offender when they are CLEARLY in violation. Its like they don't want them held accountable!

1:03:16 Erica's on point here-if your business cannot provide all the workers a liveable wage, and instead hypothetically deflect to "go work at the high end place, go work at a 2nd restaurant", that runs into a potential wall in the form of "well, the higher end place isn't hiring, what now?" on top of the general competition to get hired on and other regular factors. Just pay people a living wage, adjust your business accordingly. I promise you will have a chance at better employee retention and loyalty if you do that.

At 1:07:23 while the CyberTruck is a vehicle that social media loves to hate, I mostly get good reactions from people in real life for my past two months of owning it... To do practical truck things BTW, maybe don't believe all the FUD you hear online and ask an owner about it. Or just keep spreading the nonsense you've heard, that's what good journalist do these days? Ya?

The documents case was dismissed by a judge because the “independent” prosecutor was unconstitutionally appointed. That is the system working. Your questioning of that and mischaracterization of the immunity decision only add to the division that you claim to be trying to close

The BLM riot$ have been memory holed as well. These riots were supported and encouraged by democrat politicians.

The only concern I would have over the discussion around 43:00 is how much, percentage wise, is going to the team vs the city. I guess in my head I would want a little more going towards the city than the team, so the deal supposedly being team friendly could mean (personally) better overall for everyone or a percentage that is way too high in one direction.

It’s shameful that we are even thinking about another sport franchise when we haven’t made any progress on homelessness.

I'm not sold lower cost housing will solve anything. It's supply and demand, the low-cost housing will just go up in value/price like every other housing option. Further, the idea that everyone gets to live in Seattle is completely foreign to me. It's always been an expensive place to live. I can't afford to live that close to where I work and have a 45 minute commute. That's kinda how it is everywhere and there's nothing wrong with it.

The one panelist's chronic "uh" and "um" made this episode unlistenable.

I think there was a Mayor, not long ago, who had a lot of success with a Universal Basic Income (UBI) pilot in Oakland. I'd love to try it here. I don't see it as a "handout". I'm especially open to it as a female who does a lot of "shadow work" (behind the scenes) that is uncompensated and often taken as "just what I'm supposed to do" but is actually unseen work.

Being a natural woman in this town I have never gotten any justice. I applaud the Mayor and truly applaud the female Officers for coming out y'all got my prayers.

I understand that this show wants to represent diverse viewpoints, but that John Carlson guy is just not good and made this episode not only less informative, but less enjoyable. Can they not find people with more conservative points of view who don’t just regurgitate tired right wing tropes?

Nice program!

This was a great series. I do think that it just scratches the surface of the Puget Sound scene. There's no mention of The Hub Ballroom, Community World Theater in Tacoma, all the Grange shows, or KGRG. No mention of the Ave Rats nor the Broadway crawl. The podcast was very Seattle-centric and narrow to the TDO regs. We rocked wherever we were pushed to.

I really hope that David Boze can do some substantial research on Gaza and Israel. It is truly remarkable how ignorant he sounds when speaking on the topic. At least begin with the work of Amira Hass if you don’t know where to start, David.

Interesting parallel of the unproportional Israeli response in Gaza, compared to the similar counter-protesters' violence against peaceful pro-Palestine demonstrators.

For some reason the volume on the woman's mic seems much louder than the others'... so, especially when she laughs, it's quite uncomfortable on the listener side. I very much appreciate what she is saying (regarding accuracy of reporting on pro-Palestine protests and SPD discrimination... not the misguided idea of broad exceptions to developers for a few "affordable" units, though), but the vocal fry becomes quite pronounced/distracting with that mic.

40:30 oh it's perfectly proportional, considering Hamas is still firing rockets at Israel. It's not like Hamas is just sitting there, they are still attacking Israel.

I wonder why the Livestream viewer comments seem to be completely deleted from the video after the live stream has ended.

Sandeep Kaushik said that NPR coverage has changed to a narrow set of views about race and identity and they don't acknowledge that these views are contested. He then continued to give ZERO examples of what he is talking about. Why? Maybe too controversial because the first thing that came to me is wondering if Sandeep feels too much air time is devoted to Black American voices and Transgender voices. We will never know. With that said, specifics about the NPR criticism beyond generalities would have been more interesting.
