Jag - If You Walked Away (1979) CLIFF RICHARD?!
The Number 2 on Kenny Everett's Bottom 30 programme in 1980. Nobody had or has clue who Jag (or Jagg) is or was, and he never seems to have made another record. However there are those who consider it to be none other than Cliff Richard in disguise!
The clues: 1. the timbre of the voice and vocal stylings are very similar to Cliff, even though it's out of time and tune. On his show, Kenny demanded that the record be rereleased on "something big like EMI". EMI was Cliff's record company at the time. 3. Kenny and Cliff were acknowledged as being friends, and this could have been a 'fake' novelty record or just a joke. 4. Cliff recorded a 'proper ' version of this song on his 1976 album 'I'm Nearly Famous'. 5. One of the names on the record label is 'I'm Nearly Famous Now' - Cliff's 1976 album was called 'I'm Nearly Famous'. 6. What does Kenny mean by ‘it’s a real subtle gem’? So come on Cliff, if it's really you, we would love to know!

As a follow-up to the video series I uploaded some time ago which focussed on Korg vintage synths at czcams.com/video/ue0a902JYqA/video.html, I discovered some content from 2 of the other videos in the series, Roland & Yamaha. I believe there was also a Moog one. Again, it's all in Japanese.

Korg MS CV scaling

I did a fun video to illustrate the difference between Hz/V and Oct/V CV's. This is an MS-50 being controlled by an MS-20, first using the Oct/V VCO input on the MS-50. Only the basic note of the octave (the Cs here) is in tune. Then I connect the MS-20 to the Hz/V input of the MS-50 and retune the Cs - lo and behold, they both in tune with one another. The Korg MS-02 interface would be a long-...

My CR-78. The preset patterns, the addition of my own patterns in the programmer, and the CR-78 triggering my Korg MS-20M in various ways towards the end. Voodoo, er I mean foot switch control of start/stop. The preset ‘Rhumba’ is featured on the title track of Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays’ 1981 album, ‘As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls’. Audio through my speakers and the camera phone.

The Clavinet gives attack to the Pianet while the Pianet gives body to the Clavinet.

Oh man what I'd give to get my hands on these samples. Odds are though that no one has a LM1 rev 1 just lying around to sample, considering that these things were real top dollar pieces of studio equipment even back then.
Sure, but there was only 35 of them made, and since later ones had more features and sounded better I wouldn't be surprised if Roger Linn offered them to upgrade, so who knows if there is more than a handful out there.

Thanks for putting this up - I haven't heard the Toto tracks since this came out.
Great to hear this thanks. Bought one these in 1996 from Johnny Roadhouse in Manchester UK. It looked a mess and weighed a tonne as we carried back to my Vauxhall Chevette! We settled on £200 as a price. It cleaned up great though as it was just tape residue but I had a lot of fun changing the hammer tips a few years later, not easy! The reeds for the pianet were pretty rusty though and I could never find replacements,
This was also in Fisher-Price's "Laugh and Learn" (webisodes and music videos 2013-2015). Most notably the LCDP07 Alto Saxophone (Underscore and songs) and the LCDP12 Cup Muted Trumpet (Counting with Cookie Jar; Song: "I Ate the Cookie") (Thanks to @ToonyKid) and some other various instruments.
It remains profoundly disconcerting that a kid can do this. He’s not just dialing it in as a rote technician, there is great kindness and grokking of the material going on here. As an atheist I don’t believe in reincarnation, but fuck me if this isn’t a solid argument for it.
I tell folks that Fee’s dad is from Brighton, they look at me like i’ve got two heads.
Un genio ,,,!,,,,,,,,
I am from Uruguay. Several decades ago I met a Uruguayan gent of British ascent who was trained as a Spitfire pilot in Canada (RAF, WW2). I don't know if he ever saw actual combat. He did come back and was a prominent personality in the Anglo-Uruguayan community. His name was John Hyland. I have no record of Uruguayan female ferry pilots though.

In the US the WASPs were formed so at least women got some flight time in that way. Guess the old Brits were still too misogynistic to let that happen eh!
Women of the ATA were delivering aircraft of all types before the USA even bothered to get involved in WW2.
A l r e a d y. Evincing the transcendental gift 😊
The Sound Engineer should've been fired! Acoustics are awful!
Brilliant!
Excellent ! I di not knew this - I'm fond of New Music since their 1st album...
The video of the opening ceremony of the museum was great - speech by Bob Moog, demonstration of the Elka Synthex & others. I used to have it on videotape. Wish I could find it.
I Don’t Think Raymond Fabi Used This Soundfont.. But Umm It’s Really Hard To Find.
this duo is so cool i need some videos of the keyboard splitting setup Lol at 7:24 great upload ❤
Thanks! As the Clavinet D6 weighs a ton, I can only imagine how heavy this is…
This concert is wonderful. I managed to download this vinyl and using Audacity I successfully transcribed it into real stereo. Too bad it wasn't released as a regular album.
If you have/had the BBC vinyl record and the appropriate playback system, the record is actually encoded in quadraphonic. I have been trying to find someone who can create this for me.
I loved New Musik but can't remember this one . But then I am getting old. ❤
There are also other songs from the tapes they sold. Extra songs you can find on CZcams via computer
On "B" side of Sanctuary single, July 1980!
Ahh when Alesis was still alive!
Thanks for uploading that, had the CD. Wanted to upgrade from my Yamaha PSR 320 when it came out, never did. Great to here the banter between Mark & Lard again.
This is freaking awesome!!!
The song is not the same when we’re all played out played all played out

not sure but i think the Tubes made their first mainstream hits with Capitol records , early 80s(?) pop rock tunes like Talk to ya Later, She's a Beauty , Sushi Girl etc . I like the videos of those songs , but i actually like their music & shows from 74' - 79 like White Punks on Dope and ah ? im getting old, i forget names . but in their A&M era shows they'd do comedy skits with some old tv tunes like i love lucy, peter gunn, etc and they did some great funk covers too. I'd say my favorite tubes concert to watch is their new years eve at Winterland 1975 . it was like 2 b&w video cameras with terrible quality , but it was the their great rock music and content of that show that overcame the poor quality of the concert video . But i also like very much the Completion Backwards video which must have been with Capitol because it was superior quality and high proeduction quality . WPOD is one of my faves back with A&M , both the song and videos of it Fee playing Quay lude with his huge fake guitar and those platform shoes which had heels over a foot high . What people have to realize is the Tubes didn't shock for the sake of attention like sicko talentless lou reed . They shocked as a vehical for the satire in the lyrics . And they performed numbers like what do you want from life which weren't shocking , were seemingly just comical but they were satirical too : a vehicle to criticize "the me generation"
Never heard of this one before but sounds good 😂
