I've been playing a team that's essentially the exact same team with Kingambit instead of Slaking for a while now, and was thinking earlier today that maybe I should give Slaking instead of Kingambit a try. This video was an extremely timely way to expedite that decision, to say the least.

slaking is probably my favourite competitive mon, it's just so funny especially when you use it in singles with truant active. it's actually somewhat viable in gen 3 ou as a choice band delete button and there's a legend called bluesenergy00 who hit rank 1 on the ladder with it, lemme tell you as someone who's experienced it there's nothing as intimidating as hitting the high ladder, seeing the slaking lead and realising you matched up against blues

oh i tried smth similar on showdown a few days ago! it was krookadile banded earthquake instead, and i also used a gardevoir in a completely different method with screens, light clay, and helping hand which it does get. it didnt work

I don't think Kommo-o deserves a spot here. In an Dondozo meta where everybody has a clear smog or haze answer prepared, Kommo-o's 33% health spent on boosting its stats is just a waste. The fighting type is great as an answer to Gholdengo but if you spent a turn on boosting your stats, that 33% HP drop puts you in range of a OHKO from Make It Rain. I think Charizard is very slept on right now. Countering weather is always crucial and so it just makes sense to set up Sunny Day over Rain/Snow/Sand to the advantage of Charizard. Charizard with Choice Specs is sitting at 361 special attack without any other boosts factored in. That's enough to 1-shot almost any water, ground, or rock type with Solar Beam. If you lock into Heat Wave instead, you'll generally just smash through any team that isn't running Flame Body Armarouge or Volcarona. I usually use Scorching Sand or Dragon Pulse for coverage since Flying type overlaps with Fire for super-effective options, but Air Slash can do great work against things like Annihilape or Volcarona.
