Power Probe ECT 3000. I had a short to ground connection that caused the fuse to blow for the fuel gauge in my 1979 Jeep CJ7. The receiver could not trace this grounded wire that was inside a loom bundle running from the fuse panel over the steering wheel underneath the dash panel. I wasted my money.
This tool did help me the 1st time I used it. 2001 dodge ram: fuse for OBD-II, interior lights, etc. was shorted. I bought this tool, plugged the power probe into the shorted circuit. And It did find a shorted wire under the carpet. Previous owner drilled holes into the floor for some mount and drilled right into wires. I fixed the bad wires and problem solved. I was amazed. Though, since then any other issues the tool wasn't helpful. I have a new short to troubleshoot so lets see how it goes.
Can this scan tool provide SRS/SIR codes?
Specifically for an OBD1 Saturn
That's easy when you have a couple of wires but when you have a bundle of wire then everything changes
True. Mine failed to trace the shorted to ground wire in a wire harness.
@@jimfesta8981 That's exactly what happened to me
I have just received my Folwer Dial Bore Gauge (mine is not digital) and needed to be reassured there are deliberately 3 empty extension slots formed into the injection-molded plastic tool protective case. This video at least did give me that reasaurance.
What if you don't have a total fault? I have a tire that has 54k ohms of resistance.
Awsone video
Junk. It's a gimmick. It doesn't work worth s damn on vehicles. Works OK on trailers but they are easy to find anyway
This tool blows!!!!! It has never worked for me in the dozen times I have tried it!!!!
This chick later became a doctor
This chick was a pawg before the word pawg was even commonly used.
Needs airbags.
I only came for the thumbnail
I have one of these they are the bees knees. They will pay for themselves in one job because it literally takes you to the broken wire or shorted wire. Bodyshop owner 35 years.
its really designed for simple circuits, but if its a simple circuit unless you are SIMPLE you can find most shorts pretty fast. i recently had a FI fuse keep blowing well the load side of the fuse branched off to about 20 different components that could be causing a short, this thing was absolutely useless in resolving that issue.
Why is the music so loud?
Most people put a link to where we can buy the product....
Where I can buy it? I stay in Myanmar .Can you tell me how to get the ECT2000.
This is the most 90's thing I've ever seen.
Very informative. Thank you. Do these concepts carry over well to the ETC 3000 model of wire tracer?
@Henrik Cyrus No. No one gives a damn about being an incel pervert.
@Gus Remington Oh look. Two spam accounts created within 24hrs of each other... shocker...
I wouldn't lock her out of my car....if you know what I mean.
7:57 "some vehicles allow us to..." I don't ask for permission.
Where I can buy it?
Etc3000 on Amazon.
How does this compare to the OTC Hub Grappler?
This is otc's grandad :))
wonderful
not new vehicle but certainly not an upstate NY vehicle either looks like the OTC Hub Tamer
I bought one. Its a great tool. The only thing is, that if you disconnect the battery from the electrical system of your car, the receiver will not work proper. You have to let the plus- and minusconnector on the battery. Than it works proper. Take the Fuse out and put the one golden pin in the damaged fuse entrance. So it will work excellent. Also the deepscan!
45 years experience....I wish I had a nickel for all the times this tool wastes my time.
whats so bad about it?
does it have a m12x1.0 tap and die
I just change the whole hub with nut bolts
how much it cost and where I can find it?
LMAO. IS THIS GUY A BUTCHER WORKING ON A CAR OR WHAT!!!??? HAHAHAHAHHAA. AND THE CHEESY SMILE ON THE NARRATOR. HHAHAHAHAA
I'm sure he is vegan.
michaelovitch
geez do they check these for like..... sound?
Basically they have replicated what mechanics have been doing for years with 3/4 and 1 inch drive sockets and a length of all thread ? Changed hundreds of bearings this way!
there is no sound.how do i turn it on
one of the most dangerous tools I have ever used the arms pulling the hub plate bend almost in half the good part is ninety percent of cars don't have room behind hub for the tool therefore sparing your life the press part is ok NEVER use arm part use a slide hammer on hub part 40 year tech
Yea, starting at 3:53. They never show it actually pull it off. On the South Main Street channel it shows him using the OTC Hub Remover. He put a lot of tension on the hub and then air hammered behind it. That thing went flying! My shop doesn't have this, we remove the knuckle and take it to a Norco 20 ton hydraulic press.
this tool will not tracker deep wires under carpet. it only works if you are only close to the wire. so not help full very confuse when using it. harbor freight wire tracker works much fast and better .
with the harbor freight one you have to go into the wire right?
There is no instructional about this video except if you don't know how to unpack your gage.
i don't recommend breaking bolts with auto wrenches ....
i want to own one of my own soooooo bad
Did you ever get one?
i never use the arms and it is much easier
ROCK
send me your email via my channel
omg u hammered the lower ball joint right on the shaft/threads! ugh! Next time try tapping the side of the hole its seated in and it will fall out without destroying the threads and shaft of the ball joint. At least put the nut back on before hitting it.. gheezzz
beacuse is because i can't spell for ship:):)
I didn't notice about the inner race until i read your comment. If you use the tool right,it's called hub shark. If you use it wrong,it's called hack shark, because you will hack the new bearing. I had one,but sold it beacuse it was to bulky to use. Good ole, remove knuckle and use press.
Wow!! Professional doing the job? Never hit the lower ball joint stud with a hammer. Put the castle nut on stud with slots pointing up or hit side of control arm to separate. Either way, put nut on stud to prevent damage to the threads. I wish they showed the person trying to put the nut back on the stud. Never going to go on.
dont matter i still like this product
my god this is a difficult way to do this.. I have a far better tool kit which will do this in half the time.
What tool kit us it?
