My Dad bought a 1971 BMW Bavaria E3 4-speed stick shift new when I was in grade school. Hearing your car run pushes memory buttons. I always thought, for a strait six, it sounded like a high revving four-cylinder. It was peppy. It kept my Dad from getting board when he commuted to work. His E3 was silver metallic with black interior. He traded it in, in 1978, for a new Porsche 924. Thanks for posting.

How is the maintenance on these? And reliability?
I have a 2000 540i I purchased a year and a half ago, bought for $2400. I spent about 1400 on tires and coolant the coolant system being redone, It's been super reliable and honestly rather fuel efficient for a v8. getting an easy 17+ while doing at least a few pulls per drive. No car payment and way quicker than the average modern car, Definitely go for one if it's in decent shape.
@@EnemyTec nice, i decided to go with an 03 ls430 instead! Put about 10k miles in 6 months now and shes been super reliable and smooth!
@@DuMamesGarage Sick! Can’t go wrong with that in decent shape, I just love taking off when people think we’ve just got some old car and want to whip around or aggressive pass lol. Lexus is a great brand aswell
@@EnemyTec hell yeah! I own a 2017 civic si and i really just wanted a big body daily that has a v8 for that smoothness. I was so happy to trade my honda grom for the LS430 in mint condition too! No rips or anything on the interior and man something about the older big bodies just make them feel so luxurious and comfortable. They dont make em like they do anymore

That sounds weak as hell, surprisingly. I've heard a couple that have customized exhausts on them, and they sound too loud....
it would help if you didn't hammer on it when the engine isn't up to temp, does a lot more damage than you think.
