This animation was created with SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional. It simulates the sun's interaction with this beautiful Veteran's Memorial monument in Pheonix, AZ. On 11/11 each year at 11AM, Mountain Standard Time, the sun shines perfectly through the monument to illuminate the Great Seal. It's a thing of beauty and this animation comes nowhere close to the real thing.

Thank you Chris for your videos. Small question regarding appearance maps like specular, alphas, bump maps, etc. You can get some online but can you make these cards yourself and if so how? I have the adobe suite, can this be useful to create these appearance maps? Thank you. Eric L.France

Great video, I learned a lot, thank you! Ive got another problem that is offtopic but maybe know if there is a solution. So id like to render a video with transparent background. I know how it works with pictures but is there any option for videos? I know that you can do things like that in PremierePro or is the transparent just in the programm and when it get saved its moves bag to Jpeg/Mpeg? Thanks
Awesome video, Chris. This was more helpful than any other video I have found about working with Visualize. Would you be willing to share your hardware specs? My system is about 4 years old, but I consistently run into memory issues trying to render animations in Visualize. Thanks!

Oops! That was totally an accident! Thank you for letting me know. I'm uploading it back today. To answer your question, the website for textures was Poliigon.com. There are others as well. Another website I like is www.polyhaven.com.
