Those baggy fits make you look sloppy as hell. Tailor is your best friend. Also never wear black dress shoes with casual clothing. And never wear dad sneakers. Loafers are a bit more casual shoes so go with brown colour instead. Save the black colour for oxfords. You have no formal attire here for those weddings, job interviews and funerals.

Building a "foundational" wardrobe with fast fashion pieces won't get you there. Having a foundational wardrobe goes beyond just blanks that you can style with many things. You should invest in items that aren't from fast fashion conglomerates like Zara (HnM, Shein, New Yorker, ...). Look into getting long lasting good quality items, and your hands aren't good enough to determine what is true quality and what isn't. Saying it's "expensive" isn't enough, if you're building a wardrobe you shouldn't take the easy way out, invest some money and get some stuff that wasn't made by underpaid, overworked Chinese laborers.
