Hi Cara! Y’know, I think you might want to do that video about the brokerage compensation changes. My guess is that for many people the new rules will create a certain level of drag on the buying process. I mean, some people just won’t know what to make of it and it will create hesitancy. Thanks for the video, a lot of great information, very informative, yeah it would be interesting to see a video on signing up with a buyer's agent, I'm a little funny about signing a contract before I even look at a property, does that contract obligate you to pay that particular realtor, what if you don't like them after meeting them and decide to go with a different realtor, houses have went up so much in the last few years I'm wondering if you are seeing the realtor percentages go down any, 24,000 seems like a steep price to pay to sell a $400,000 house ,

Wow! I think prices are way too high and they just keep going up. Something has to give. I have noticed things staying on the market longer and sometimes just being taken off the market. A lot of this is inflation caused by bad policy, but I would not be surprised to see a price correction. This world is more volatile than ever and a lot of people are speculating.

Id be curious about what percentage of homes are being bought by nonresidents and turned into short term rentals.

I've moving in the next couple months and I've had my eye on Asheville. I'm from Maryland, and years ago I dated a girl who went to UNC Asheville and when I visited I fell in love with the area and the culture. Recently, I've been looking at places online and started to feel a little discouraged because of the higher cost of living and limited availability. I resigned myself to looking at someplace like Raleigh, which might be a safer transition. But then I came across your channel and you reminded why Asheville is so special, and how I feel about it, and how important that feeling is to me. I'm not sure how, but I'm determined to make it work. Even if I have to live in a dinky old apartment 🥲. Do you have any thoughts about living inside the city vs. right outside? Any advice on looking for a place in general? Thank you ❤

I love Arden and lived on Long Shoals for years, love the Broken Egg and the local YMCA, the whole area is amazing. I'm looking forward to moving back. RIP to the OG 12 Bones location.

I'm so glad I left Asheville. It's a great place to visit but it's kind of like a college town for old people. I moved 45 minutes away and bought twice the house for half the money. And no traffic.

Montreat is a Christian retreat area. With a lot of tourists all year. A lot of negative issues. This woman does not live in this community.

Hi Cara, I have to say, I very much appreciate your lack of pretension. Unlike most others who do what you do, you don’t come across as a salesperson or a bad actor. I know you as a person in the world because we met over coffee that time in the River Arts District with my wife, Laurie. What was that? Maybe a year and a half ago? You seemed there then as you do here now. Decent. Knowledgeable. Personable. And lacking in bullshit. Anyway, the reason that I watch your stuff is because we do hope to purchase the final joint sometime in the coming years in the Asheville area. So, obviously, I want to keep my finger on the pulse. I think that we’re primarily interested in the area around Hendersonville / Brevard. There is one thing in particular, tho, that I am curious about. Dear Cara, This is from the guy in Ohio who's still trying to bring his family to the Asheville area. I really do want you to be my/our realtor! Thank you for sharing so much of your heart. I did the over-working thing for many years, the 60-70+ hours per week as an elementary school teacher, raising my daughter while going through a divorce. As a Christian I also found myself doing the "work-yourself-to-death-for-Jesus" mentality that plagues conservative Christian morality. But I've also have found help with yoga, nature, and SLOOOWWWING down. Our American success culture doesn't help things either. I'm glad you've found ways to bring peace and rest to your life. There are two memorable stories of Jesus dealing with people who did this same, exact stuff. I find I need to read them regularly to keep myself in a calm place. Your video is an encouragement to many of us.

My comments on this video... 1. Set a goal to teach yourself one song a week. Play it for 7 days and you'll perfect it. Been doing this for years. Tablature is your friend! 2. I am currently burned out. 3. Routine is key. Been working out consistently for over 25 years. I crave my daily workouts. 4. I've made a schedule of my daily, weekly and monthly "to do's". This may be cleaning, car maintenance, yard maintenance, calling family and friends once a week etc. Meditation helps me live in the present. Try breathing practices that help you center yourself in the moment. 5. Self-sufficiency....you know I'm a prepper :). Fun video Cara!

Hi Cara! I have been a subscriber since moving to Hendersonville 2 years ago. I appreciate your content. I watch because I value your knowledge and insights into the Asheville Region Real Estate trends. I also enjoy your blog videos especially the ones with your significant other going on trips in the area. I get ideas from them to share with my wife for day trips. So, I am 66 years of age. One thing that really helped me when I felt trapped in my career (Bank Manager now retired) was to utilize services to take personality tests that offer insight into possible careers based upon your strengths and likes. Well, when I got the results of a few of them, I found out that my strengths and likes favored a Banking Career! Ever since then, my outlook on my job completely changed as I knew I was in the right career for me. It made all the difference. Perhaps you may get an epiphany that may lead you to another career field. Maybe you will discover that you are truly in the right career. These tests are fantastic for that introspection and exploration. Finally, always remember: If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me!!! I enjoyed this tea chat. Ciao.

Cara, thanks for the update. It's crazy how much the market has increased. In April, they delayed voting on STR's for 100 days. They may extend that time frame as well.

Not free, but I like to check out the Grove Park Inn.You have to pay to park, but the view is incredible.Lunch at the Terrace there is a must for me, though a little pricey.There are craft shops and a car museum at bottom of hill behind GPI.
