Greenhouse Effects Nobrainer: Alt/Shoegaze Distortion Pedal Demo
Find the Greenhouse Effects Nobrainer here:
www.sinasoid.com/pedals
The GHFX Nobrainer has a wide range of distortion tones, and this is one of them. We recorded a short snippet in the style of Silversun Pickups to show all the different shades of gain the Nobrainer can achieve with nu-gaze and alternative style music. We also included some parts that go direct into the console to show off the gritty, raw sounds recently revived by artists like Silversun Pickups and St. Vincent.

    I just spent 1hour googling 536 questions google. And checking endless specifications on speaker after speaker after speaker no articles about magnets in STUDIO speakers. Which capture ACCURATE sound. U know, like reality or our ears do. No1 cares about magnets in STUDIO speaker forums either. Zero data on magnets. All I wanted 2know is type of magnet most used in studio (STUDIO) speakers. Absolutely no specs I could find on any speaker dared breathed the word "magnet." Question. I have a a BOSS guitar amp with 2 huge speakersa butted together. Wont this cause degaussing (wear out thmagnets over time?)

      @koyaanisqatsi78 Před 6 měsíci

      ??? Three types are often used, Ceramic, Alnico or Neodymium... if you don't put the magnets in a pizza oven or hotter they won't lose their power, the magnet might even be stronger with the other one stuck to it, but yeah that might not be great for the speaker or sound or response..

    I would suggest using sorbothane isolators made by Pangea. Available in small or large size, for different component weights. Using them separately for every line component is more important than the main speakers. But using them with a subwoofer to decouple vibrations from traveling through the listening room’s structure, is substantially beneficial. The bass will be cleaner, allowing SPLs to deliver the slam factor.

    Dont know what anyone else is listening through; important; I went through the HD600s.. The 103 is a nice mic; sweet spot is usually 200-250mm and up to 300mm for bass heavy vox so either way its not really in the right position..but its chalk and cheese to me; I really like Blue mics and have the Bottle etc but in this comparison, the 200 has typical dynamic wooly character (I was doing blind test) and it makes the singer (really nice tone voice btw) sounds a bit nasally/boxy 400-800 to me..the diff is like polished stainless (not a mirror though) versus stainless finished with 1000 grit. Its still ok but I dont think its a fair comparison...the weight of the diaphragm in the dynamic is also compressing the articulations in the voice. Would love to have heard comparison of Encore 300 - that would have been great! Thanks for level matching too...some tests have gain matched which is of no use. Dont know what cables are being used but they are not the same...either Analysis Plus Pro Oval or Vovox really shine in this situation. Im not joking...cables and lengths really matter.

    I love this pedal. I just pulled it out last night after having it on teh sidelines for the better part of a year. I usually use it with Decay all the way up, lots of gain and Level at unity, and then I won't put the guitar down for an hour. The shifting characteristics between the three knobs don't behave in a linear fashion and like you say, the Gain alters the character of the tone, not just increases or lowers Gain. I love that about this pedal. It's great to rediscover something you got. Good demo!

    I'm not sure, but the Blue enCORE 200 costs around 200$ in my local music store, while the TLM 103 is around 900-1000$ I've been wanted to order a TLM 102 (not 103) or just a Røde NT1A microphone, cause it seems to be very nice. I've made a lot of songs with a 120$ sound card and a 70$ microphone that a lot of musicians seem to love, and listen to, so it's not only the sound quality I think. It's of course nice if the sound is higher quality, but I think if its good mixed and mastered, and the vocals are good rapped or sung and recorded, then it almost doesn't matter what mic someone uses. I don't know, man you sing really good!!
