    Option 1 is the only answer! He was finally able to sleep with another woman besides Naoko. That's how he left his past behind, he did it with the help of Reiko. And at the same time he helped Reiko to leave her past behind. Both of them took a new step for a brighter future. After Reikos departure he is now able to get together with Midori with a clear mind. When he calls her he becomes overwhelmed by his feelings resulting in in him to be disoriented and alienated by the people around him. Which reminds me of following scene: ''I twisted open the lid of the jar and took the firefly out, setting it on the two-inch lip of the water tank. It seemed not to grasp its new surroundings. It hobbled around the head of a steel bolt, catching its legs on curling scabs of paint. It moved to the right until it found its way blocked, then circled back to the left. Finally, with some effort, it mounted the head of the bolt and crouched there for a while, unmoving, as if it had taken its last breath. Still leaning against the handrail, I studied the firefly. Neither I nor it made a move for a very long time. The wind continued sweeping past the two of us while the numberless leaves of the zelkova tree rustled in the darkness. I waited forever. Only much later did the firefly take to the air. As if some thought had suddenly come to it, the firefly spread its wings, and in a moment it had flown past the handrail to float in the pale darkness. It traced a swift arc by the side of the water tank as if trying to bring back a lost interval in time. And then, after hovering there for a few seconds as if to watch its curved line of light blend into the wind, it finally flew off to the east.'' Option 2 makes no sense! Okay let's assume Toru is in fact 37 years old in Hamburg and is calling Midori..... how the fuck does he have her number ? ? ? And how weird would it be for him after 17 years finally wanting to be with her + Midoris response with that 17 years time gap wouldnt make any sense. The only thing open for interpretation, is if Midori and Toru got back together after the phone call. In my opinion they certainly did because Midori always loved him that's a fact. Toru at this point in time is finally leaving his past behind and also tells her ''All I want in this world is you'' which was literally Midoris only condition for them both to be together. It makes the ending wonderful and perfect. I love this book so much.

    i maybe over sensitive or whatsoever but i did not like the protagonist the way he was isolated from everything or i felt maybe Japanese culture was different from ours ,when finally he started feeling the deep emotions he let them overwhelmed them and then again in instant he slept again with the first one he get and lol he is leaving all bad memories.For me at least it was not fair

  • @Vendea
    @Vendea Před 9 měsíci

    It took me a bit to get used to the pacing, but the longer i watched the more i realized it was the same pacing as the original comics. It's not as good as the original 6 book series, but it's certainly fresh and funny. I think the goal was to make up for the movie's poor characterization of both Scott and Ramona. 8.5/10

    • @abstractaf
      @abstractaf Před 9 měsíci

      True, they do address a lot of complaints fans had about the characterisation of the leads. Although Scott almost gets sidelined, not something one would expect considering the title.

    • @Vendea
      @Vendea Před 9 měsíci

      @@abstractaf it's true that no one expected Scott to be sidelined. And I do love the comics, so I would have watched the whole thing if it was just a 1 to 1 adaptation. But I think a big thing the movie made people forget was that the graphic novels are mostly a chill slice of life. A proper 1 to 1 would have needed more than 8 episodes and there would be less interesting fight scenes than what we got. I'm hoping for a season two. Imagine we get a redo of the Scott vs Exes ladder climb but remixed with this new timeline. Maybe even add in Ramona vs Scott exes ladder climb because Gideon has perfected his mind control chips; all while Scott has to confront what he did wrong in his past relationships.

    Retconned the entire plot of the books. Gave Wallace a retarded love interest with Todd Ingram. The whole “They respawn back in their house after they die” got thrown out the window. Retarded Matthew Pattel Musical. Knives joining Sex Bob Omb instead of moving on with her life. Lisa makes a 3 second cameo and didn’t do shit. Gideon being taken down easily by Matthew Pattel made Zero sense. Also Gideon’s retarded name change Gordon Goose. Kim should have been the first one to go looking for Scott when he was “dead”. Young Neil’s retarded movie mock-up of Scott’s Life. Once again, no mention of Knives’s dad, he’s just completely gone. The retarded oh Ramona is some Astral Being now. Julie and Gideon starting a new league. The list goes on.

    To me it was pretty obvious that Noah was a child of Lexi and Ethan. There is so much unsaid things between them. And he was brown in the house (page 261) while the mother could only give birth in the hospital, and it was mentioned that ‘his birth took place..’ without mentioning who gave birth to him.

Leavdng me to believe that he had crossed over into the alternate reality in Greece and then returned.

    The way I see it is she was really back. She did not die, but found a clever way to escape that island. Maybe she paid someone to take her by boat out of there and keep secret. She ran away, not knowing what she'll do, but she could not stay near Miu any longer. After some months, she gets back to Japan because she misses K. Yes, the feelings she had for Miu were very strong, and seemengly she would never get over that, but the reality is that no feeling lasts forever unchanged. She bled and lived. However one would interpret the ending, they were back together, and I would call that a happy ending.
