Hi Amy! I like your taste in books, I find it's quite similar to mine. I'm always mixing up some cosy fantasy, middle grade, ya, adult, and mystery books. Good list of recommendations 👌🏻 I'm looking forward to reading Emily Wilde and the Tainted Cup next month. I love mystery novels, and a blend of that with fantasy sounds perfect! I don't know if you've come across it, but I'm really excited to read Empire of Shadows by Jacquelyn Benson next month. It's an Indian Jones style adventure, and I've heard it has great banter. The Farseer Trilogy is so good! Fitz goes through so much! Royal Assassin is for sure my favorite out of the Trilogy.

Wicked is interesting. Not the best book I’ve read. It is pretty different than the musical, which I love the musical! The book has some graphic stuff to it. I only read it bc of the musical. I think I still have my copy if you ever want to borrow it and read it.

I totally agree! I’m the best person to sell all three, and here is how I can excuse it: 1- kindle version, for when I’m in bed and my husband is home and can’t sleep with a reading light 2- Hard copy, for during the day, so I can feel the pages. 3- the audiobook, for when I’m doing chores and I don’t want to stop with the story. I would say I read a minimum of 3 hours a day, while working full time and tending to our farm 😂 I could never do it without my kindle version and the audiobook! I’m cheap though, so I typically can find the audiobook and the kindle version at the library ( on cd) or in the Libby app. It’s an adventure!

I’m too volatile to commit to a number but I always have different goals for different months, so for July until December, my goal is to read 2 new releases each month, I want to do a thriller and a horror. My goal is to find new books I love and still leave room for backlists of my favorite authors. I love thrillers, but after you read 100, it’s like, I think I know where this is going … and I don’t like it. So, I hope that by December, reading the same month releases I can confirm I still love thrillers , or be ok with changing my taste. In my head, I love horror, not extreme horror, blood and body parts, but haunted places, unexplained things, but, I start a book and usually DNF because it doesn’t keep my attention. So, I’ll decide by the end of the year if horror is for me or not. My rule is, I can’t DNF the 2 new releases, so I can give them a fair chance and a fair evaluation at the end of the year. Then I can read whatever I want, but those 2 are must reads … wish me luck! Right now I’m reading We used to live here by Markus Kliewer ( debut novel I think) he started posting this story online, won the best horror on 2022, he just published the book and Netflix is going to release the movie. I’m 50% in and I can see how my interest changed in different parts of the book. I’m waiting on my book of the month I picked 2 other new releases I can’t wait to start, but reading backlist titles in between😂 You are doing amazing! Your best of the year will be amazing!!! ❤

I love summer too , but I also love fall… I think is nice to romanticize every season, however, idk in what state you live, but here in southwest Oregon, we are going through a heat wave, so I had to drop everything and spend the last 3 days at the beach reading ( poor me 😂) thankfully our beaches are always cool and breezy, so it’s a nice spot to escape the heat back home. It also helps that the beaches are so big, that you barely see people 😂. I didn’t read much in June, or finish much I should say, because I did read everyday for a few hours, but I finished 3 books in the first week of July, so I think I will catch up! I appreciate sharing the spice level in the books, I don’t like it, actually depending on how much it focuses on it I usually DNF, so I appreciate that added to the reviews. You did awesome in June! I love that you read to your husband, mine would fall asleep to it 😂 Have a great week, I just got to work and I can’t wait for Friday ❤
