Great advice. I told the 2nd to my husband when he was being way too harsh on our daughter. To his credit, he changed the way he treated her. She is an adult now and they have a great relationship, and I believe she will seek to find a husband that respects her and not belittles her.

Here is something my father who was a DI at PI back in the 50's, keep your mouth shut, do as you are told as quickly as possible, try to avoid the DI learning your name, avoid the edge of the formation when falling in, as these are the recruits that "get attention" of the DI. One more thing I learned at PI from our series Gunnery Sargent, "the world teaches you big mac eating lazy ass fat bodies you cannot do things because they are hard, the Marine Corp is here to teach you that you can do anything." I use the things I learned from my time in the Marines over 40 years ago every day.

The Coast Guard itself was moved to the Department of Transportation in 1967, and on 1 March 2003 it became part of the Department of Homeland Security. However, under 14 U.S.C. § 3 as amended by section 211 of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2006, upon the declaration of war and when Congress so directs in the declaration, or when the President directs, the Coast Guard operates as a service in the Department of the Navy.

I deal with the exact. Same. Problems. I sit at 175 when I bulk im 185. When I run 6 min miles I start scootin back down to 175. I think it’s important to listen not just what your body needs but of course what feeds you mentally so you don’t get bored and actually look forward to mastering new things. So I’ve started running with the vest more lately. And doing many variations of exercises adding Bands, chains, movement patterns. Check out monkey feet btw. I’m ok with Taking 2-3 days off and go hard for the 4 days on. It’s ok to be versatile with the plan as long as you stay consistent. You look good bro keep it up. I also have two little ones. I’m looking forward to getting the chance to working out on base soon. Shipping 9/17 lackland afb.

That's actually my problem too. I have exercise plans, but once I get into repetition and complacency in doing the same routines or exercises, I suppose, predictability, I get bored. I love exercise when it's spur of the moment. When I was in the enlistment process (medical disqualification, but I'm working to go back this year or next), PT was so fun for me regardless of what we did, because it was never a planned routine but always pushed me. But when planned, I don't know. It just isn't it. I'll do it, but I don't like it so much and eventually I falter, and I'm not sure how to combat it. I think I'd be interested in the hybrid program.

to keep from getting killed, I don't throw a medicine ball at my house...keeps the wife happier. When I was still just a Grunt in the Corps, I was 190 and could only average 7's on my mile times. After I graduated from BRS and subsequently CTCRM, I was down to 185 and my runs were hovering in the 6 min range. Now I'm old and fat, but I still do CrossFit 5 days a week and do 5X5's three days a week. Cant out run you, but if I get a hold of you, I'll smash you like a bug. I still teach small arms and tactics in the National Guard, so I keep all of my skills up. Super important as you get older to not rest on your past glories. Train, train, train! Semper Fi Nick!
