33 My favourite locomotive along with the 73 and class 20 How did you get round Stewarts Lane When I went I found it to be the most secure depot ever I was treated like a spy Late 80's by the way

Nice footage of locos at work. Not sure there was any problem with 47441. Looks like it came up from the south coast and then waited in the headshunt for its next turn. Railfreight 47237 (still working in 2023 for WCRC) was deputising for an ETH fitted 47 up to Birmingham I guess? Would have got cold in that train.

The last month of the loco hauled TPs, given to 156s from Jan 91.

I had a wonderful time up at Scunthorpe box that month. It was busy all day with all manner of traffic.

Did anyone get the tanks in and out of Croda Bitumen before it finished?

Nice to see 33 102 in her working days. She was withdrawn only two years after this but has ben preserved since 1993, living on the North Staffs railway. '102 was originally one of the 19 Eastleigh based locos fitted with push-pull equipment for working the Weymouth docks line; back in the early 80's you'd rarely see one so far away from its normal working on the Waterloo - Hampshire lines, however Weymouth Quay station closed in 1987 so they took up more general freight duties throughout the Southern network after that.

Thanks for sharing, always a bit sad looking back at those magnificent locos.

Happy days 😊 I called their this Monday and it was really sad seeing how much has been removed especially the little used Widnes line and nothing going to Sheffield anymore 😫 In the late 70s I lived in Urmston and had a Honda CB250 and spent many days going to BQ via Lymm so I could watch the trains and plenty of them 👍🏻

I find that a little ironic, we used to send train loads of scrap metals from Bordesley, Birmingham, to Aldwarke. Where are the 91s bound?

37510 will be turning 60 years old on the 13th february, always strange seeing condemned locomotives being hauled by enduring old units twice their age

Sad to see the class 91s go for scrap personally speaking them and the class 43 hst’s were better than the Azuma units that run on the east coast mainline these days

Very sad - but at least their last journey was in style - pulled by a Class 37 in fine form!
