Buying and rebuilding as many unique cars from my childhood and beyond as I can. Sometimes I buy to sell and sometimes I keep. No matter what I try to repair at home with common tools. Hope you enjoy

Changing out brakes on a 97 s500 w140. Getting Xavier’s Benz back on the road
You must remove ash tray liner, remove the screw holding the ash tray timber panel, then remove the two torx 20 screws holding the shifter timber panel to the stereo surround panel, only then can you lift the shifter panel up from the front and unhook at the back. If you use a massive screw driver to pry up at the back you will break the panel. Wonder how many people have broken their panel following this guys video.
Lovely 💪👍
It 8s abuse. This one machine isn't for that. Are you crazzy??!
dumbest design ever
Thanks for the guide saved me
The cheap one is faster, you just gotta know how to use it.
not a straight pipe but a muffler delete
Actually since no cats or resonators it would be a straight pipe just by deleting muffler.
I found the alternator for under $200.00. Dealership quoted me $950.00 inc the labor. BTW... Mine has 180K miles on it
Definitely going this route
Yes bosss whats the price
Ironically we just got our first test ones completed by a shop. Cost should be very affordable since it’s not something we need to make profits off of but need to cover costs. I will be updating soon
Sorry, but people don't need to here about your car life history
Waste of money. You don’t need all that. Run a clear tube from your bleeder to a tall container of brake fluid and pump a few times, check for bubbles, right rear, then left rear, then right front, then left front, if the master cylinder is on the left. Works very time, no need for any help or these waste of money devices.
Can you use this tool on a clutch line ?
U know Bauer is a ice hockey skate . 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Puck! Puck! Puck! Puck!🏒 Sure beats current auto car wash places where they scope up over $79.99 of Ur hard earned dineros. So this is great deals even U pay $65 right now. I will go 2 harbor 🚢 store buy bauer. N do DIYS car wax myself. With much much better detail work.
Not a bad hand pump, still have to push pedal to get fluid through lines and fill new calipers. Get airlock sometimes! Once full then use hand pump, couple pedal pushes usually fills but still air.
Do you have an update on how this has held up Pete?
Sorry sold the car but held up for the 8 months or so I had it
Harbor Freight Bleeder works one time and then fails. Handle, hinge, and schrader tip is plastic (falls off). Total garbage, $30 with tax
Well someone forgot to tell mine. I have used mine 4 times since 2018 and still works. Great for diy use in my experience.
@@naimt8696 - I'm thinking that the schrader valve may be the problem, no suction.
This tool works one time, and never again. The handle and hinge is plastic, and the shrader valve plastic tip falls right off. Total GARBAGE, DON'T WASTE $25.
I have the same HF vacuum pump. Worked great for a while - then it didn't. The seal must have went out inside the pump. Mityvac pumps are rebuildable.
Thanks ! Could not find a video on this one ...
You should kept the original seats as is
I would’ve at least kept the gauge… very handy to have! And it seemed to be working.
With a nice car like an LS 430 why wouldn't you go ahead and fix it properly!? It's really not that difficult nor does it cost $300. There are other videos that show how to actually fix the problem for less than $100 (used mirror motor) down to the cost of a single 10" zip tie. Why not actually fix it?
Hey Pete, Great channel. I have a 1999 S320 and a 1996 S500 with a 1997 engine swap. When I purchased the S500 this past April I knew that the temp gauge was not.working, however I have not been able to find the ECT that sends signal to the temp gauge. Could you tell me or show me where it is on your 1996 S500. Thanks, Frank

Blue toith Taoe Adapter... Nice
I had a 87 LX in this dark metalic blue, it was a good car, should have replaced the front rotors instead of having them machined, A/C was always nice and cold, loved the dash computer when it told you you had a burnt out tail light, trunk was nice and big, I got rust on the rear wheel wells a lot, I think i paid $600 in 93 to have them both fixed, it looked really good for about three years then starting rusting again
Hi Pete I recently inherited my dad’s 97 SL500. The soft top is completely trashed and can’t be saved. I purchased a whole new soft top frame. I can’t figure out how to remove the entire top so I can install the new one. Any advice? I replaced all the cylinders so I’m able to use the system without issue.
This was incredibly helpful !!
You did a good job on this video. What about more videos on the car that built the channel?
My '84 W126 still runs R-12. Unfortunately, the compressor just stated leaking mineral oil from the rear seal, so it needs to be replaced. My R-12 A/C blows 20 degrees at the vent. If you convert to R134a, you're at 38-42 degrees, so be prepared for that when you convert if you live in a hot climate.
Im about to do my 2013 Interseptor sedan 3.5, i hope its as easy as yours 😊.
Would have kept the explorer. BMW is one of the leading depreciating brands. There’s a reason.
Back in 1989 I had the 2 Dr 5spd LXi Coupe Same color as this but my wheels were the Saw Blades not hub caps Man I loved that car and it made me a Honda for life.
Thanks for the video! Not a lot of these cars are on the road anymore but I've got one and needed to do this exact job so this was super helpful
The volts don't matter. Being brushless, does. 24v. VS. 20v. does not mean an increase in power. At best you'll see a slight increase in runtime. Only reason why Kobalt is 24v. is because Milwaukee owns the rights to all 18v. Battery packs (which some companies claim is 20v.). Regardless, 18 or 20 means every company outside of Milwaukee has to pony up some cash to the brand. Kobalt's creators (ironically not Lowe's itself) decided they didn't want to do that. So they found a way to incorporate one extra battery inside of their battery packs. Making them 24v. But yeah, being brushless means you're getting a significantly better quality tool over a Brushed Bauer.
Any idea how to disassemble the black plastic and get under the screens you're spraying on (minute 6:55 shows them well)? I need to clean what's under that got accumulated there. Too much fluff in this area. Thanks!
Been using the MityVac MV6830 pneumatic version vacuum brake bleeder for over 25 years. The biggest complaint I read are the air bubbles from leaks around the bleeder threads and universal boot supplied with the MV6830.. Since I only service my own vehicles, I decided to make a better interface. I simply got 1 brake bleeder for each car that fits the Caliper, say an M8 X 1.25mm X 24mm for example. I then ordered a longer one from Amazon for easy access, M8 X 1.25mm X 31mm. I then take a clear vinyl flexible tube 1/4" ID X 3/8" OD and slip it over the bleeder end. To secure it in place , I use a small ear clamp. Works like a champ with no bubbles. I also put a dab of grease on the bleeder threads as insurance to seal them as well... And there you have it..
Next time remove the little black spacer 😅😅... and ull get the tool working ..
If it won’t go higher on the vacuum you have a small leak in the system of the bleeder
Hi friend , I have a W201 190 D 2.5 renovation project , looking your brake upgrade video , do you have mail ? Thanks for your help
We bought this exact car yesterday except mine doesn't have leather seats. I'm so glad I came accross this and you told that the key fob has to be in your pocket for the back lift sensor to work because I was thinking it didn't have one but I also didn't have the keys. I'm also glad to see that it has the blind spot sensors because I haven't driven it much yet and no one has been in my blind spot yet and I was hoping it would.
wtf? Mine didn’t come with two long clear hoses
Any tips for putting the spring back in? I managed to get my LF back in on my 92 500sel but I'm struggling with my RF. Kinda afraid it's going to kill me lol. I disconnected the shock just to get it out of the way, anything else I should do? I have the same spring compressor setup as you. Car is on jackstands with plenty of clearance
Always difficult to know exactly what someone is dealing with from a message. I’m actually editing a full video walking through how to do a full swap on springs step by step but if you can hit me up on instagram with photos I can definitely help
@@petescarport word. I will hit you up with pics once I get back from vacation.

The 1989 Honda Accord is my all time favorite car.
Nice video, thanks now a couple years later how did the air spring performed in time and distance?
Spring held up great no issues. In fact the other side went about 2 years later and I replaced the other side the same way and both are perfect.
