Pt. 5 1996 Seadoo xp hood removal and painting
In this video I will show you how to remove, disassemble, and paint the hood on a 1996 Seadoo xp. I will include links below to products used and a materials list.
MATERIALS:
•Bulldog adhesion promoter (1 can)
Kleanstrip BD ADH Promoter 15OZ AERO (KLE-ETPO123B) a.co/d/cqgE40m
•Spraymax 2k filler primer (2 cans recommended but can get away with 1)
Spray max 2k Rapid Primer FillerGRAY Non ISO - 3680031 a.co/d/7TV9utZ
•Spraymax 2k single stance gloss black paint (2 cans required)
SprayMax 3680222, DTM Topcoat Black High Gloss a.co/d/bBtxnPU
•220 grit sandpaper
Fandeli | Wood Sanding Paper | 220 Grit | 25 Sheets of 9'' x 11'' | Sanding Wood by Hand | Ideal for Orbital Sander a.co/d/3mQoAkb
•600 grit sandpaper
600 Wet-Or-Dry Sandpaper 5Pk a.co/d/4Ws5XiH
(Optional) wet sanding blocks
PROCESS:
1. Sand hood with 220 grit
2. Apply bulldog adhesion promoter to parts
3. Spray filler primer
4. Wet sand with 600 grit
5. Spray gloss black
6. (Optional) wet sand after cure and paint second coat of black

What does it cost to rebuild a 717 Saedoo engine
Do yourself a favor. Save all the time and money and frustration and just go find another ski with a 787 in it. If it rolls over smooth and has good compression you'd be a lot better off

You can take pictures of the connector and de-pin the connectors to make them pass thru the Holes.
How do you de-pin the connectors?
@@duckygang603 you can google it. There are tools for de-pinning. I usually do it using small flat screws. But for very small ones you need the specific tools.

Just checking because I didn't see it... I assume you rebuilt the carbs and replaced those grey Tempo fuel lines right? That very likely is what caused the piston to melt. It probably ran lean due to those fuel line breaking down internally and plugging up the small filter in the carbs.

Why does your front cylinder or number one cylinder liner look cracked?
Where did you get the parts for the rebuild?
Dude did you put sealant on the inside lip of your crank seal.... Use silicone grease 😊
