what orchestra is this? I could watch Kondrashin conduct forever I think. Amazing. Kondrashin defected from the Soviet Union in December 1978 while touring in the Netherlands and sought political asylum there, whereupon the Soviet regime immediately banned all his previous recordings.

Historique ! Le Double concerto de Brahms par deux artistes de référence (il suffit de voir comment ils se regardent l'un et l'autre) comme on l'a rarement entendu, bien que la vidéo soit un peu étriquée, mais on n'en connait ni la date ni l'orchestre qui les accompagne.

This piece should be performed much more often.

One of my favorite composers is Brahms, posibly number one, or two, I don't know because Rachmaninov is so marvellous that perhaps Brahms is number two. On the other hand, two of my most beloved interpreters are Oistrakh and Rostropovich but this concert is awful. Beethoven has another double concerto and I would have the same opinion. I'm sorry to say I wasn't built for double concertos.
