Very Informative saved me a lot of time and hassle great back ground music thanks
Clean that air filter and stop blaming ethanol for everything.
I had a compressor say to empty rhe oil it comes with. Just depends on where you get them.
Better empty it and refill than to have faith that it'll actually have the correct amount of oil.
Thanks for this! I was wondering how to turn the compressor by hand! lol
I think the "screecher" might be called a "tattle tail".
Oil cooler issue
Some models do have an oil cooler, mine, however, did not. The oil cooler lines would be attached in this area also. This one did not have that.
Never heard it called staged? Flared is what we call it
Swaged* phone always autocorrect
Well guys, she's over pressurizing again a year later. We've been having a lot of days where it's over 100° and when I go to leave from work, as soon as I turn the A/C on, it ruptures around the compressor. It will steady relieve itself until I turn the A/C off. Pulled the orifice tube off today and nothing clogging it at all. Tiny amount of metal on the filter screen. Replaced the orifice tube with a new variable orifice valve and replaced the pressure relief valve. Tomorrow, I'm going to replace the clutch cycle switch which is on top of the accumulator/dryer. I need to put some pag oil back in it since the pressure relief valve sprayed oil and refrigerant all over the compressor. Research says the compressor holds 3 oz and I may put 3 back in it through the vacuum pump. I'll pull a vacuum and see if we have any leaks and go from there.
What did it make?
356 hp to wheels with a stock motor, Airaid cold air intake and Pacesetter headers.
@alansunday that's pretty good
You can get these things faster. We really enjoy driving these things. Do you have one or thinking about getting one?
@@joecedillo1774 Just checked your page out. Love the Chevy Stepside! Well done sir!
@alansunday I want one .. thanks.. i got a cammed lq4 with 243s sstb intake mainifold long tubes and true dual tunes by nelson performance. I really wanna know what I'm making..
My 2018 Silverado did the same thing for 5 years
Oh wow! What did you do to fix yours? Or did you ever fix the situation?
@@alansundayNah I sold it 😂
"Hack Saw".................... Nuff said.
Good video
Where did you get the sensor? I actually need one for my 08 LT
I ordered a genuine GM battery sensor from RockAuto around 85 bucks. It will be under Electrical, and Generator Battery Control Module or look up part number 19432143 which is the latest updated version. Hope it helps! Mine is still running great with no voltage spikes. Stays around 14v.
Thank you so much!!!
Double nut would work also probably
Wish I knew about about the half a turn. I was struggling yesterday and just ended up using the blue hose instead
I changed my bottom hose and it’s still leaking
Same here. You have to put a heat gun on it to make that band shrink. If you don't, it will leak.
Just changed a head on a 07 f150. My block looked like that and never saw anything but coolant.
Straight antifreeze? I'm 54 and always use distilled water and antifreeze, never seen anything like this. Mitchell flushed the block best he could and we're getting rusty metal fragments coming out. It's the worst I've ever seen.
I just started doing this with regular motor oil....thanks
That makes it simple! - Appreciate the video. So I guess you do not need to program/re-program that module? I saw a video on the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and that one had to have the module programed to the vin. I have a 2003 that I think the ABS module may need to be changed (Or BLED) as I think the PO did some brake work. I have a mushy pedal, even after changing all calipers, rotors and pads. I also changed the Master Cylinder, and installed after a careful bench bleed. I have brakes, but still mushy, and too much pedal travel. When I depress the pedal while driving, it sounds like the ABS is engaging. You can hear that rapid piston rattle sound, reminiscent of ABS engaging under the hood. I am guessing its just a bleed...
What if u can't get the pinion stud back in all the way? The last inch won't go in where the 8mm bolt goes. So close lol.
I run at 15v daily, the amps love it.
Are you running capacitors with your amps?
Yep my thoughts are to bend the connector to the size wher it can slide off and place the new one on. Flatten out the connector to original shape. Or you can find at Napa the connector and uncrimp the old one without cutting! The cable and placing the new connector on it
Yes that was my thought by just looking at it. The factory crimping was soo tight though. I couldn't get anything in it to pry the crimp open. It was just that tight. And trying to bend it wasn't easy either without it being in a vice. Plyers, channel locks, nothing could bend it free handed. But, the dremel tool worked well and still had enough area to connect on the battery.
Where's the anti drain valve it doesn't have a rubber or silicone?
I posted a video where I cut them open. czcams.com/video/l7fZW_CD-ys/video.html
@@alansunday just watched it thanks!
Carefully cut off that plastic ring with cut off disc.Remove that metal ring. You can put that hose on it like a regular hose.Use a stock spring clamp and add another worm style hose clamp to it for extra security.. 7 years and haven't had a problem with it coming off or leaking...
There was a TSB about the PF48E and switching to the UPF48R (PF48 has same internals) to rectify low oil pressure symptoms that cause the P5201 code of low oil pressure. I believe the PF48 and the UPF48R is the same internals but just a thicker shell/higher burst pressure on the R version for the corvette. Something to note. Have been looking into this the last day or so and doing some reading, was hoping you would look at the pressure relief valve at the bottom a little more in detail. I think the spring rate may be different, I did notice the PF48 that you showed....the shape of the metal around the spring was slightly different from the E version but could be wrong. It may just be the spring rate.
Not trying to be hyper-critical here b/c this is really good info. But your symptom description of "turn over but not crank" is somewhat difficult to understand. Do you mean crank but not start? If not, what does "turn over" mean?
Starter engages turning the engine over, but no start.
How did you get the bolt by the power steering pump out that holds the air filter housing out I can seem to get to mine
Great video thank you so much..
Worked great to take it apart thank you 🎉
I recently had my abs light come on while driving in some snowy weather. Im hoping its just a blocked abs wheel sensor but Im reading up and preparing for the worst in case it doesnt go away. Did you disconnect the battery before swapping the module?
Thinking back, I may not have disconnected the battery, but it would be a good idea to do it.
Wow! May you please record all the Subwoofers and woofer excursion?
In my experience, you cant really see the breaks in the copper until you apply heat & even then they are hard to spot.
Did this fix today on my 2014 kia. Hardest part is getting the column back into the j hook position in the far back. Have a jack or object measured to hold the column up once it's loose and its way way easier
So fucking mad I have to do this only had the car for not even two months
The supertech mp10060 is the same as the pf48 and the st10060 is the same as the pf48e
Nice I got to do this man. One of my rims is looking bad. Thanks for the info I guess I’ll end up doing all four.
I just mounted three new tires on my daughters Ford Escape. Each tire had a yellow dot and a red dot, with a good bit of space in between. I decided to mount them with the valve stem halfway between the dots. The tires balanced out with no weights at all, and no vibration at all.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!
GM will never admit they made a mistake. I saw another video where someone cut open both filters. The PF48e has felt end caps and plastic core. PF48 had metal end caps and plastic core.

Good information. Especially about the drain plug on the block to get the rest of the coolant out. Wouldn’t be too good if coolant made its way into the oil.
Fricken cheater. You have headers.. I have a 5.3 XL and this S*U*C*K*S...
Mike, I hope you check the comments. I told you this would work. And for the creator BRILLIANT 😉👍🏻
As of today, August 16, 2023, the ac is still working great. This makes me think that being low on PAG oil will eventually make it over pressurize. Did not replace the compressor and just added 5oz of PAG oil and she's doing great so far 10 days later.

I want to add that before I changed the fuel injector and after I performed a smoke test, I unplugged #7 and #8 fuel injectors, cranked it up, misfiring terribly, hooked number 7 injector back up and it smoothed out a little, hooked number 8 fuel injector back up and no change. That tole me along with a buddy of mine telling me it could be the injector and this test pointed me in the direction of the number 8 fuel injector.
My Chevy has side posts and they are genius
To save time you should do both at the same time.
You know not all vehicles have that problem just certain ones...
Horrible suggestion. Horrible practice. I promise you should not be doing this. Do not put any substance including oil in between your battery post and the terminal of your car's wire!!! It must be bare metal contact! Once you've cleaned the post and terminal with a wire brush 🪥, then you make the connection. After it is connected, then you may apply any type coating!
Horrible suggestion?? Er, what would happen if we put 3 in 1 oil on the terminals? No connection? Explosion of some kind? My Dad and I have been doing this for over 40 years with no issues whatsoever. Great connection, great voltage on the gauge and terminals have stayed clean. Never had any issue with that chalky acid showing up. Explain why this is a horrible suggestion and I will make a corrected video. Thanks for your input!
@@alansundayI put it on my Flapjacks. I think this is an excellent suggestion. I’m serious. A friend of mine just did the terminal’s on his Jeep, I told him about your site. Did you ever see those green and red fiber things for corrosion ? They also worked well but if you can’t find them this certainly beats a blank 👍🏻
@@tphvictims5101 I bought a used vehicle with the chalky acid problem on the terminals. Got them clean with a wire brush, put some 3 in 1 on it when I hooked them back up and haven't had any problems with the acid coming back for almost 10 years now.
