Hi there, welcome to our channel! We are Robert, Marit, Jarno and Jens, and early 2023 we left the Netherlands behind to pursue a new adventure in Saudi Arabia. Robert is working for NEOM and in our spare time we love exploring the beauty that Saudi Arabia has to offer. Join us on our overlanding adventures, in search for hidden gems, as we drive through wadi's and water and go off the beaten track through desert and mountain landscapes.
Ep #11 Black Sand Dunes
Join us for the finale episode of our 2 week road trip! 🌟🚗
After 10 days of incredible adventures (see episode #8 czcams.com/video/gan072pm92s/video.html and #9 czcams.com/video/8dMsbQIwb1s/video.html) we arrived in Jeddah! Here we strolled through the old town of Al-Balad with its unique Arabian architecture, enjoyed our time on the Jeddah Corniche and celebrated new year.
But our overlanding journey didn't end there. After two days in the city, it was time to head back home to NEOM. However, not before spending a great night in the desert close to the Potato Rock, and last but not least discovering the magical Black Sand Dunes. This place definitely felt like we were out of this world and on another planet! We have been in many “middle of nowhere” places during this trip, but this was a completly different experience. Check out how we drive through this area packed with craters of old extinct volcanos and roam around this volcanic sand area.

Thank you @Yaya 🙏 🤗. We are aware and it wasn't easy to find a spot outside of wadi, but we managed to find something a bit higher up at last. The danger of flooding wadi's should not be underestimated indeed. The water came really quick.
Beautiful nature, wonderful trip, and a video enjoying to watch. BTW, the tracks are not snakes, theses are lizards and mice. The snake 🐍 tracks are zig zag almost like a coil.

Great video. When was this? I heard there are new rules for wadi Disha now like no camping and only picnicking in designated places. I’m planing on a trip there in a couple of weeks.
Thank you! This was last week, we just set up camp outside of the main wadi which is still possible. There are indeed designated picknick areas now, but primarily to avoid ppl from bbqing in the wadi after a fire occurred last year. But it's still an amazing drive.

We enjoyed the trip with you and wish you happy times. The fire must be lit on a stove high above the ground so that you are not exposed to a fine from environmental protection.

I've been told that the current Saudi environmental law prohibits campfires on the ground unless it is built on a raised firepit. On the same note it is also prohibited to cut down vegetation to use as campfire fuel. Maybe this is something to be observed in your future trips. Anyways, have a lovely time and stay safe. I look forward to your future videos. ❤
