Fletcher sold us a lot in the East Cape and I would like to hear more talks on proposed developments in the east cape, and the likelihood of them actually being built. It seems every week there is news of another development. Since Baja has a lot of boom to bust cycles (currently it is definitely boom), what is a realistic outlook, not pie in the sky. For example, I read an article last year that they expect La Ribera to increase the population to 30,000 by 2033 due to all the proposed developments. Thanks!

If the water problems are so bad, then why do they continue to develop condos? The roads and traffic have gotten worse, so why do they continue to develop condos resulting in a huge increase of population. The demand on resources and the infrastructure is overwhelmed by the lack of a strategic growth plan. Why is this happening to such a beautiful locale? Does it have to be this way??? Hi Fletch, you know I respect you as a realtor and your videos are great, BUT as a resident of the East Cape, I beg you not to promote off-road driving on our ROADS and BEACHES. Going up the arroyos is one thing, but ruining the tranquility of our beaches and driving fast on our dirt roads, is just not cool. I've had people almost run my dogs over on the beach and had a quiet contemplative walk ruined as a result. Your guest also just promoted drinking and driving. Please NO! I've been run in to by a CanAm once and had them come WAY too close when I've been driving slowly on the road on my ATV and I've seen them get WAY too close to animals, people and other vehicles. I really think that these vehicles do NOT belong on public roads and definitely not on the beaches. Please, think about others before you go tearing up a place in a vehicle. Maybe you could promote people going to the track on the Pacific side?

Here in San Lucas the water is very dirty. Sometimes the water comes out really dirty with a lot of dust. I have a whole house filter and I'm changing out the filters every month. Sometimes the filters turn green with algae which means there is also a lack of chlorine or other bacteria killing chemicals in the water. With all the tax money coming in from luxury home sales and business here in Cabo, we really need to push the government to start using that money for infrastructure like, roads, traffic signals, plumbing, power lines, schools, etc. If we don't keep pressuring them they are just going to pocket that money.

We don't have a "water" issue per se. We have a water regulation issue. Would love to discuss further if you are interested.

My understanding is the new desal plant was just a small percentage of what was needed to provide water for the entire city. And there are problems with desal plants - they release brine into the ocean, creating a dead zone devoid of sea life. 30% of all water in Cabo is lost due to leaky pipes. Some people are hooked up to water and have no meter. And there is no tiered pricing - so the wealthy landowner watering 10 acres of lawn in the desert pays the same rate as the struggling paisano, creating an incentive to waste water. There are also no education on or incentives for conservation - no low flow shower heads, kitchen sink aerators, low flush toilets, etc.

Ignorant dirt pimps don't have a clue where they are. With less than 3" annual rainfall this desert cannot support the unhinged "developement" and the support immigrants required to tend to the swimming pools and golf courses. This is the Sonoran desert! Desalinization is not a reality unless you are a Saudi with unlimited fosil fuel to support it. A few drought years back to back, (common here), will bring reality to "paradise". In a short 40 years you have ruined this place.
