There is getting what you want and there is how you get what you want. It can be more satisfying to get something despite self restrictions for example.

I always win in games. I always thought life with people is more pleasant if people are honest with each other (agreeable) but one out-competes if they are disagreeable like in this playlist. I therefore restricted myself to honesty in life (treat others as you would like to be treated) and always looked forward to games where I could make use of much more of my intellectual capacity. It just feels bad that in life there are people who don't live by the same code and recently I have reconsidered my code. It would be fun to unleash myself. I've gone through my whole life without doing immoral things or asking for anything. At 30 now to others, I don't recommend it. As for behaving like Thomas, consider if you would actually be happy. There is no objective meaning in life (maybe breeding lol), one feels emotions and a sense of life based on how stuff effects what they want. So it is what someone wants that defines them. A challenge/fence in the way is just a fun hurdle to defeat but something that ruins your end destination/what you want is genuinely crappy. So hopefully for you what you want is something you genuinely have control over. If you want a close relationship have it be with someone you can trust and be worthy of what you want, I would recommend living by example there.
